Meh. I'm going to say no. The movies were brilliant, don't get me wrong, but they just could never include all the amazing-ness and detail that was in the books. They were long movies as they were, if they included everything then...The popcorn would have to last quite a while.

Question: Which books, do you feel, are the most over-hyped?

Just close your eyes
The sun is going down
You'll be alright
No one can hurt you now
Come morning light
You and I'll be safe and sound

Don't you dare look out your window, darling
Everything's on fire
The war outside our door keeps raging on
Hold onto this lullaby
Even when the music's gone

Let me think. Dan Brown's books are interesting, but the writing is atrocious. Twilight isn't the worst thing ever, but there are thousands of better books. Um... That's all I can think of at this moment.

"Twilight" (particularly books 1 and 2), "If I Die", "My Sister's Keeper".
Which ones do you find over-hyped?

Twilight.
Twilight. Is. Not. Literature!
Twilight is- well, I suppose I'll be nice to you all and spare you the lecture. No... lecture isn't a good word for it. Long speech about... well, about twilight. About how petty it is. About... [an hour later]... and that is why twilight isn't literature.

I finished my book today. "The Mirror of Merlin." It was good, and I liked how it ended.

I agree. One hundred percent. I read it, and I can confidently say I felt like throwing it at the wall. I would've too, but for the fact that there was no wall, because I was outside. D: I read the whole series. Waste. Of. My. Time.
No offense to anyone who like Twilight, though! This is just my personal opinion. It wasn't my slice of cake. xD

Re-reading the Harry Potter series for the 9th time. Pure LOVE. <3 Harry Potter is my life, pathetic as that may seem. xD

Hmmm..... I've never heard of The Mirror of Merlin. Sounds intriuging, though. But, you can't judge a book by it's title. xD What's it about? :)

I don't mind Twilight, actually. And I know this may sound like blasphemy, but hear me out.
Stephanie Meyer is not a bad author, although she does get a lot of crap about the Twilight series. It wasn't my cup of tea, of course, but a lot of people really liked it, and who am I to judge what other people do and don't read? I'm in highschool and I still enjoy reading books that were written for middleschoolers. The Redwall Series, for example, is one of the greatest things I've ever read, although it's obviously intended for a younger audience.

*gasp* BLASPHEMY!!!!! I just started reading one of his books today, and it's probably the only mystery I've ever actually enjoyed!

AHEM.

To get on to the question:

Nancy Drew. Hardy Boys. Ummm... the fifth book of Harry Potter. Twilight, yes. HOWEVER! By contrast, her other book, The Host, gets not nearly enough love! I read it, and I was shocked that Stephenie Meyer could produce something worth calling literature, but she did. Yay!

I'll probably think of about fifty other books later, when I don't have access to the computer

I'm not saying the plot is bad, just the writing isn't that great. Nancy Drew is flipping boring though they make awesome computer games.

Now, since I've forgotten about this club for a short while, here is my opinion on everything you've been recently talking about:

To be honest, I don't see why everybody is so crazy about Harry Potter. In my eyes, the writing is average, the story plot also average -orphan goes off on a mission to kill bad guy-, and the characters average. It's all average.

Twilight is also average. Bella needs to get a life and stop being so clingy, Edward needs to stop obsessing with her, Jacob is fine.

The Redwall series is good writing, but I get sick of reading about animals. But I felt really sorry for that weasel with nine claws that died. He turned out to be good in the end, D; Poor baby!

Dan Brown's books are alright, can't wait to restart reading the Da Vinci Code. Very good plot, well thought out characters, I like it.

I'm reading Lord of the Rings right now, and it's not too bad. He stretches out on some things, but still quite good.

OMG, yes, The Host is pure love for me. Wanda, you are amazing! <3<3<3

I'd love to read Howl's Moving Castle. I've read House of many ways.

Jacob is not. Fine. Both of them suck. Edward watches girls as they sleep, and Jacob threatens to kill himself to get Bella to kiss him.

But I digress. (YES READ HMC AND WATCH THE MOVIE TOO OR DIEEEE)

I could go on a long debate about Dan Brown, but I won't, seeing as how I just picked up the book today. But if things keep going the way they are going, this could well be one of my favorite books.
