If you like historical fiction, "Red Queen's Daughter" was good. Well, I enjoyed it
It really depends on if you're okay with a bit of magic mixed in with your historical fiction.
If you are, "A Great and Terrible Beauty" and the two sequels are good.

HOLY CRAP I LOVE A GREAT AND TERRIBLE BEAUTY!!! The ending made me really sad, though The other book I know of by that author (Going Bovine), is incredibly weird and about as far as you can get from AGATB.

The Red Queen's Daughter is in the Elizabethan era; A Great and Terrible Beauty is in the 1880's or something. I think. At least, sometime in the late-ish 1800's.
@Hair Like Starlight: The ending made me sad, but it seemed fitting. I suppose I sort of expected it, which somehow made it less sad. However, it seemed... well, like a fitting way to end it.

Anyways, more on topic, does anyone know of any books that are like the ones Tamora Pierce writes, but aren't those one because I've already read them... I want to read something similar, they are really good.
