Its GREAT!!!! I love it! And its a trilogy. The 3rd book is Dragon Drums. Have you read it?

What?!?!?!? 0.o HOW CAN IT NOT BE YOUR THING!!?!?!?!?! Its the best book ever!!!!! Granted, I say that about a lot of books, but its still true! It made me cry when she thought she could never play agian! And when Petrien died I cried! I was so sad! Nonetheless, she made it through and tried to outrun the thread, and then got rescued byt the dragon rider, who thought she was a dude. And then there was the hatching, and Piemur, and the Harper, and Camo and..... ITS EPIC!!!!

Wow, nice freak-out you have there.
They're just... not my thing.
I enjoy more down-to-earth fantasy, like Wild Magic and the Redwall series.

Well, I guess thats why. I hate 'down to earth' stuff. Mostly cuz my heads in the clouds! Haha! But seriously, its so emotionol! Her being forbiddon to do the 1 thing that made life without Peterion bearable, and the fear of thread, and the pain of her hand, and the awe at the Fire Lizards.... I just luffe it!

And no, I spoiled nothing. He is dead at the beginning. It starts out and they are talking about how Yanus dosn't want it to be Menolly who sings him to rest.... but he has no choice. (Sometimes I feel like slapping Yanus)

I call it "down-to-earth" because it has less to do with frivolous magic and more to do with actual fighting and such. It's less... hmm. I suppose the word would be aloof.
