bof of 'em. xD

I finished The Boy in the Striped Pajamas... :'( That has to be the saddest book I have ever read in my entire life. It's so- breathtaking, yet at the same time written in a very simple style. It's amazing, and besides The Book Thief the best historical fiction I've ever read. D':

But there's no use crying over every mistake
You just keep on trying till you run out of cake
And the science gets done and you make a neat gun
For the people who are still alive

Now these points of data make a beautiful line.
And we're out of beta.
We're releasing on time.
So I'm glad. I got burned.
Think of all the things we learned
for the people who are still alive.

Well I'm back after two weeks in Scotland - I read a lot because I got to stay at the cottage every other day! I even read Alien by Alan Dean Foster, I haven't seen and don't plan to see the film. But wow, the book was awesome. Great use of words and easy wording. It's an adult novel of course, but the style reminds me of Jurassic Park, so it was really enjoyable. But I'm still trying to figure out why they had a Cat on-board...

I love historical fiction as well! I would recommend Boudica by Manda Scott, title says it all!XD It's a series of four books, but because it's an adult series I tend to get bored and I keep on delaying my finishing of it. I actually got confused as to why they were attacking a place because I hadn't read it in ages!

I also read The Lost World and not only is it really different from the film but I didn't find myself yawning! It did take half the book to get going, but once they were in Maple White Land it was great!

Bounding: It's hard to compare it to The Book Thief because it was an entirely different kind of book. While The Book Thief was very poetic and wordy, The Boy in the Striped Pajamas was deceptively simple. I loved them both, though! <3

phantom: hi. x] welcome back!!!!!!

Crabbiey: Welcome back as well! I love Scottish accents, and I've always wanted to go there! What was it like?? 8D
I didn't know Jurassic Park was based on a book. Huh. I'll have to look into that once I finish all the books I have on my plate right now...
