Some say Roller Derby is a mix of blood, sweat, football, wrestling, skating, and racing. Roller Derby gives emotional support and encouragement for girls and women around the world. This is the place to chatter if you have a friend or family memeber in derby, if you're in derby, and a place to share advice and stories.
Basics of Roller Derby

Illegal Moves
No hands! You cannot grab, shove, or block using your hands. This only applies to the opposing team.
No forearms! No blocking with your forearms.
No elbows! No jabbing with your elbows, or "swimming through the pack" with your elbows.
No back blocking! You cannot block someone from behind.
No blocking out of bounds! You can't block a skater if they are out of bounds, or you are out of bounds.
No head blocking! You cannot block using your head, or block an apposing skater with your head.
No tripping! Simply said. no tripping.
No fighting! In roller derby, you expect it to be vicious, with girls attacking each other. Well these rules apply to flat track derby, I'm not sure about banked track.
No cutting the track! You cannot put one or more skate out of bounds and keep going.

3 Keep cursing to a minimum.
