I think they're trying to keep us satisfied until they can get more of the book released... I mean, just think of how disappointed some people would be if the first four chapters were more like those of the Sorcerer's Stone? The four-chapter release would have been a bit... bland. Of course, I'd have been perfectly happy with all of the information they released on the Malfoys, but...

i'm pretty late to jump into the conversation but oh well. i never really liked ginny too much myself; at first she was way too shy - don't get me wrong, shy characters can be super kawaii and adorable if you do them right, but she was too shy almost to develop any sort of solid personality other than that. later on when she was old enough to start going to hogwarts, my lord did she become a mary-sue. i think the intention was that she was supposed to be one of those strong female character types? but tbh i'm getting sick of those too.

not to mention i don't think ginny is a good match for harry in the slightest; i much prefer harry/draco or harry/hermione. also wow i don't really ship hermione/draco at all? i mean there's nothing wrong with it per se, i just can't really see them getting together?

Wow, this is probably really late to jump in, but I don't really care either way for Ginny. She was just sort of there for me. I mean, sure, she definitely could have been a better character, but in her defense the books weren't about her, they were about Harry and the Golden Trio. Although she was a mary sue, which would be the main reason why I don't really care for her. I guess I wish we could have seen more of her weaknesses, you know?

I agree, Ginny lacked a personality. She was dull and forgettable. The only reason I remember her is because she married Harry. The same goes for Cho Chang. They were both largely ununique for my taste.

I liked book Ginny, just not movie Ginny. Don't get me wrong; Bonnie did a brilliant job with what she had.

I guess I wish we could have seen more of her weaknesses, you know?

I see her family as her weakness. She cares so much for them; she wouldn't leave the Final Battle and she was obviously upset when Arthur was attacked in OotP.

But I agree; we should have seen more of it, moreso in the movies.
