Just out of random interest about how many words or pages (regular loose-leaf pages) do you think a short-story is/should be?

It depends on how big you write, Huffy, and the plot of your fanfic should affect the length of it as well. The best fan fiction I ever read was about a half a page long, while on the other hand, I've seen some good fan fictions that consisted of several chapters. Now, I've never actually written a fanfic, and I only sometimes read fanfics, so I can't give much advice other than what I've learned about short stories in English class. So... just make sure you don't use too many words, but make sure to give a good description of what's going on so the reader can get a good mental image... Crap, that's all I can think of... It can be whatever length as long as you do it right.

Huffy's handwriting varies... So about 200-300 words a page? Huffy has writers' block she ended today with:
"My dear Heavens, girl!" Voldemort exclaimed, greatly annoyed, "Just shut up!"

Hehee..
But it's about 7 pgs long so about, maybe, 2,000 words... I get bored easily and write randomly but hardly ever finish :3

You know... It probably did start that owl thing O.o

Well all I know is it's on oth this chat and Harry Potter chat Version 2 because I was yyelled at a lot about a certain owl incident..

If you're going for the length of a short story with your fanfic, Huffy, a short story is between 1000 and 7500 words long.

Well, Thursday didn't start on here, it started about a year or so ago in real life, so I brought it so I brought it onto the internet (you're welcome, Sparrow) and I'm not sure where the whole Lupin/owl thing came from. I think we were talking about owls and me stroking owls and Huffy calling me Lupin or something. I remember changing my username for a few minutes, though.

I remember Tigress said Lupin can touch Harry, then later on Huffy said something about owls, and Thursdays came onto the internet some time after that... But I don't remember entirely any more.
Just know that Lupin likes owls, and especially on Thursday. Other magical creatures are fine too, I suppose, but owls are undoubtedly the best of them all.
