Is it just me, or is it rather obvious whoever wrote 'My Immortal' is American? For a start they use all American spellings, and make Draco say some things any right-minded Englishmen would never dare to. Their use of the word 'prep' is also in completely different context to how someone from the UK would use the word.

American 'prep': I don't really know.
English 'prep': Can be known as homework, pre-prep is like pre-school, prep is something to do with education I'm getting the feeling here.

Anyway, I have no idea what the meaning of 'prep' is in that story. Prep is used as a school term here, to...as far as I know. As for the things Draco says, I'm very sure few American men would say that, either. The only fact that leads to the author being American would be the spelling.

Edit: Maybe they meant this kind of prep? It still doesn't seem right, though. o-e

I used to be a 'tick', as everyone has been at one point. I didn't think it was bad at the time, but I discovered that it made me look silly. But when I was getting out of my tick-phase I don't remember experiencing pain. Or crying over how badly I spelled things. xD

I wasn't a tick, more like a Newb, which we all were at some point on some website. 83 Not tick but..couldn't figure things out, didn't know what to do, etc. (For example...me on Aywas right now...;_;)

The main reason I stopped is because people respect you more in general when you have relatively descent spelling and grammar.

When you where in that place not long ago, it probably doesn't hurt to read what others put. But for me, it hurt because I wouldn't leave any of the posts until I was able to read what they said.
