I... er, started liking Hetalia in the summer really. Ihope I'm not a Hetatard or anything, I'd hate myself totally if I did.
Well, there aren't many Otaku's in my/Lucky/Wing's school, so don't exactly have a problem..
And Feliks, I agree completely with your journal. It ges annoying when people obsses, over anything really.
(And it comes from someone who used to like Twilight so..)
So, I seriously hope I'm not ruining the Hetalia experience for people because I'm writing fanfictions of it. ^^;;;

Like Gilbert said, I hope I'm not one eirher. I don't try to make wars/disaters of countries funny. So.. yeah.. *shot*

I assure you, the majority of us here aren't yards. We may be fans, even hardcore fans, but not tards. The people who associate Hetalia with history in a completely honest way are the yards. Meaning, those people who take 9/11 and start making a crapload of Hetalia references. Historical Fanfiction and minor mentions is one thing, but taking things like mass murder and whatnot and making comparitively vulgar comments about Hetalia in regards to something REAL and SERIOUS- those are tards. So are the people who start pairing wars and odd little pointless things like that.

Drawing a SERIOUS picture of the great depression or 9/11 is one thing. MAKING FUN of those events are another.

@Lore- That is quite true. I have seen a few pictures actually trying to make a horrible disaster amusing and it just makes me quite angry. Even more so with 9/11 because not only was it an awful occurance, many firefighters died. My father is a figherfighter and I have many close friends who are firefighters as well. It also reminds me of one firefighter who died in a housefire- who was also a close friend of mine-, and it just upsets me. Using Hetalia to make something such as that not only offends me, but makes me extremely upset for those reasons.
Sorry if that went a tad off topic, but I was truely explaining my reasoning there. Things like that are painful for me and making fun of them angers me in various ways.

And, sure, I'll say little things about history using Hetalia and all, but only things I have seen in the manga or anime. I won't use something like the Holocaust, sine that has never been mentioned once. I'll use something like the Revolutionary War. Therefore, no tardism in this fan.

I only use countries shorten names Saying: Ivan instead of Russia, Alfred instead of America in history notes, and some of my friends and I have inside jokes regarding Hetalia, but that's really it.
I also hate the fact that some people take pictures to far. I mean, serious pictures are great, they give emotion.. The stupid ones, somehow insulting history, just anger me. Deviant art is a great example of this. And some fanfictions are like that too. I just find it..insulting. Really.
If your going to draw pictures of Hetalia at least do it right.
And that pobably went offtopic/repeated a lot of things.. Ah well.
