Hah hey guys so I'm in desperate need of gems. I need 3000 gems by January 31st, and I have 1800g so far, so I need at least 1200 by then. It would be a BLESSinG if I could get some commissions (;;
I plan to spend 2000g on a Wilclaw scroll and 1000g on a beautiful gen1 that's for auction that I really want (;;;;

Question!

What flight did you choose when you first joined? Why?
If you changed your flight, why?

I've been in the ice flight since i joined in 2015. Honestly I had no idea what Flight Rising was and when I first joined it was so I could get some currency to trade for CS pets.
I chose the ice flight because it was what i could relate to the most, I live in Alberta and used to ski race so I love the cold and being around snow so the ice flight was the closest I could get to home.

The reason Im asking is because I dont think the decisions i made for choosing the ice flight could really apply for most of the other flights and I was curious why other users chose their flights

I've never paid more than 150k at sale for a gen1 myself. XD
but I don't get as hyped over them as other people seem to.\

I first joined Lightning because I knew I'd be breeding a lot of purple and blue range dragons, and the aqua eyes complimented nicely.
Later I changed to Ice because I got a lot more varied color couples and I realized around 70% of my goal dragons needed ice eyes so it made sense for breeding projects. x'D although i never hatch my nests anymore because i have no space

Despite being in both I have literally no idea what the communities are like in either. I only go the forums there for skins and art.

On the subject of generation 1's
I hatched this gal. She looks ehhhh pretty ugly.

But I was messing with genes, and oh my word, I cannot believe this is the same dragon lol. Now the struggle of saving for genes. ;-;

On the topic of expensive gen1s, this dude is the most valuable one that I currently own. I have no idea what he's worth in Flight Rising currency, but I traded three zebras and a sunback for him. x_x



I've also sold a gen1 for 72,782 gems in value. It was a maize/maize/white that I no longer felt the need to hang onto after obtaining the above fella. So, yeah. Gen1s can be pretty expensive/valuable.

I chose the Plague flight when I first joined for a multitude of reasons. The primary reason being the lore opportunities. I'm into writing darker stuff with morally grey characters who are more focused on self preservation and survival than anything else. And the Plague flight pretty much lends itself to that type of lore. The second reason had to do more with dragon aesthetic, I guess. I like red eyes and when I found out that dragons born within Plague clans had red eyes.. well... I was sold. haha

I've never changed flights and I never will. I still adore Plague. Perhaps even more now than I did before. c:

when i first started in 2013 i joined Plague. i just found the aesthetic appealing, since i'm a sucker for anything "horror" themed and plague mom looked great with all those bones and rotten skin ^-^

but red eyes looked horrible on almost all my breeding pairs, so i changed to shadow. honestly the community there was the best, those people are just lovely and super friendly.

now i'm in ice, simply for the neutral eye color... but i've always wanted to go home to plague again ;n;
