I have to say, I'm not a huge fan of the Joxar's box.
FR isn't like CS where the rarity is set by an algorithm, but whether the users have the resources to get what they want. And since FR's economy isn't stable and in my opinion (hyperinflated at times), they can't pull the same trick of re-releasing old items without messing up the rarity. (You can CREATE money by breeding dragons, selling them/leveling, selling what you gather/grind for, and all you need it more dragons to make more money! It's so easy to make treasure in this game if you have the time to do it).
CS does re-releases to keep the economy stable since the rarity is based on the ratio of pets to users. As the years past, all the '08 pets would have become OMG So Rare since old users become inactive, locking the pets on their accounts. CS has an adoption limit so pets' worth doesn't deflate.
FR, on the other hand, does not have a limit of how many festival items you can get. Since many users can get a lot from grinding, gathering/scavenging, and brewing them, the value of items are set by the market which slowly climbs over the years because those festival items are gone for good. But now, with the ability to get an older item that you didn't initially get will now ruin that. I get two of each festival item every festival and I've been sitting on them for a year now waiting to sell for a higher price. But it's not going to be worth it anymore.
I know they are limiting Joxar's Box to 1 per user per event, but it is an arbitrary guideline since the items were up for grabs as long as you had enough tokens. I really like the ideas of recolors since they are different and new (I know some think it is going to eat into the original sprite market, but I doubt it. I think people who just like the looks of the sprites will be happy with not paying a fortune, but the people who still want the originals will still pay the high price for them since the recolors are not replacements, just knock-offs).
I wish they just offered recolors, tbh. Just my two cents
