I noticed that a fair number of people didn't say thank you, too, but I kinda just let it slide. I don't know if we should require people to say thank you, though it should definitely be recommended.

I agree, I remember one time this year I sent someone a high quality rare that was on their
WL and I got no reply when they accepted it, that kinda hurt my feelings actually.
It shouldn't need to be a required rule for someone to say thank you, but there should
simply be a note that it may be seen as rude if you put no reply when accepting the treat.

    LOLO is now over!
Please do not send any more Trick or Treat PMs, if you receive any you do not need to respond to them.
You still need to respond to Trick or Treat PMs you received BEFORE the game ended.

If you have any questions, comments, etc. Feel free to PM me or post here.
I have removed the form from the main thread, but will leave everything else intact so I can use it next year.

Got my last trick or treating in before rollover~ aaaand then got a trick this morning because my lights are off because the game is over. Ah well. I've seen a lot of people with their lights still on-!

I had a great time~ so many, many wonderful treats!
As for repeaters, I had two. One only did it once and got a trick, the other did it three times :p I keep track of who I go to and who comes to me, 's good.

I think I got one person this year who didn't say thank you. I do agree it's slightly rude, though I'm not terribly offended by it.

On another note, I sent out a few last lolo pms and treats before rollover, and now people who I sent pms to are sending their trick or treat stories to me even though the event is over. Not quite sure how to handle that. ^^"

I had a few people that accepted without a thank you too. Though it does rub me the wrong way a little, I find it more frustrating when I gave them something really nice. When people don't say thank you, it makes me feel like they disliked the gift, were dismissive of it, or were disappointed in it.

One rule I think could possibly be added is that you must have turned on your light at least once during the game, if you have trick or treated once before, unless you wish to dropout. I think some people come just to gain treats, and less to give. Also, on the thanks thing, I agree. I find it appalling when people don't say thank you, even if it's just a quick "thx" (which also wouldn't be pleasant though). If there was rule implemented for that - well I don't know how it'll turn out. Personally, I think it may be a little.... accusing of the innocent. A few times I almost accepted without thanking. I would have had a heart attack had I actually done that. Sometimes, some people have forgotten, and some due it out of anger for a "bad" treat, I guess, but who knows?

I've also had a couple of people send me their trick-or-treat stories after rollover. You can still send them a treat if you want, but you don't have to. I personally had my friendly greeter "answer the door", say that she was all out of candy, and mention that it was getting very late for trick-or-treating and they should probably be heading home. I figured it was sort of a fun, friendly way to point out that the game was over.

I've been reading through the comments but I wanted to respond to this specifically. The main reason I don't bother doing this is cause there isn't any actual way of enforcing this. We have no way of knowing if someone is ever turning their lights on, since they might just be turning them on without us seeing. The only thing I can think of that comes close is getting a group of excessively active people who report to me on anyone who seem not to be turning on their lights, but have been sending out PMs (since some people may just not be playing at all), but this definitely wouldn't be perfect and people could still slip by, and its difficult for me to collect a group like this, people who tend to send out more PMs than they receive (typically meaning they have a lot of time to kill) tend not to advertise it in their signatures.

I also may be in the minority here, and by no means expect anyone to agree with me, but my own approach to LOLO is it being an opportunity for me to give out gifts to people because I enjoy their story/costume. For me, it really has nothing to do with whether I receive anything, I'm not as concerned about other people also sending gifts. Yes, part of the idea is the take AND give. But I also like to point out that this is the reason we require the costume/story. It requires effort on the side of the person you are giving stuff to. Technically, that should be why you are gifting them, not because they are also gifting people.

Anyway, I have given this a great deal of thought, I do every year. If I could enforce it, I would. But its not something I can really see any way I could truly enforce it. I'm also not entirely sure its quite as big of a problem as it might seem to be. A lot of people who seem to always have their lights off probably aren't actively playing, or even actively on CS. October also tends to be the month that people have mid-terms or papers due (which may be more for college than high school), so some people might just get too busy, or only play occasionally.

How long should I wait for a treat to be accepted? I have one that was sent on the 7th of October and still hasn't been accepted. The person's profile says that the last time they were on was the 1st, so? :\ I'll probably just wait until December I guess?
