I do think we either did a better job getting the idea across that people needed to keep track, or they just stopped openly saying they don't keep track. For several years I've been telling people to do so, and up till this year, we'd be getting people all the time mentioning how they don't 'bother' to keep track or stuff like 'I'll remember their name/avatar/sig' despite that fact that people change those all the time (especially for Halloween). I've really be trying to crack down on it, not sure what else I can do to encourage it though. I know its a bit work work to do so, but its also necessary, and hey you're getting free stuff for a month.
On responding, I'll admit I've been behind on some of them. I work 3 days a week, and have college classes the other 4 days, and in general I'm just pretty busy this year (oh and trying to do a bit of art for tokens right now too c': ). I've also noticed a bit of an increases in messages over the past day, I guess everyone is trying to get in the last few ToTs before the end of the game. I never actually bothered to check back on those that didn't respond to me, though I did keep track of them. Its not a big deal for me since I tend to get a few common hoard pets in treats I receive since my wishlist is basically just full of easily obtainable hoards (which I love to get so no complaint here).
Honestly, I'd be happy to get any suggestions for improvements on things you've noticed problems with this year, generally I like to get those through PM so I can discuss them more lengthily with you. Anyway, I just wanted to thank you all for your opinions on this as well! Its good to hear them especially since I can't trust that my own experience is the normal one, so I can get a better idea of what we need to focus working on next year.
I had SO many repeat triers this year, I feel like as more people are "allowing" repeats, it's assumed by the newer players that that is normal. I mean I had a ToT on the 30th that resent barely 24hrs later.
I personally use a GoogleSheets 'form' to keep track and have for the past 2 years now, I've slowly been trying to perfect it and I think it's near perfect! Maybe you could offer a template of this to players for their own use with very simple instructions? That way people that aren't excel savvy still have an efficient way to track without having to come up with it themselves. I know a couple other people have said they use GoogleSheets or Excel.
I saw that last little spurt too! I planned on sending out a whole bunch by going through the ones that had their lights off whenever I'd previously tried but sort of passed out after work yesterday and didn't get home early enough today xD.
