I used to love Rose. Loved her, she was my second favorite after Donna.
But ever since the 50th, I've found myself hating her. Not just being 'meh', actually HATING her. Can't stand her.
First off, there's the people on Facebook who're like "ROSE HAD THE MOST DEPRESSING ENDING WAAAAAAAAH" And I'm just sitting her like; NOPE. Rose had the happiest ending.
Martha had to go back to her messed up family life. After the Doctor, her life was a total mess. He admittedly ruined her life, without meaning to obviously.
Donna forgot everything she was. She's the most important woman in all of creation, and she doesn't even know it. And if she remembers, her mind will burn and she will die.
Amy and Rory died pretty much. We didn't see the actual death, but we saw the gravestone. And while they were together, they had to leave their FREAKING KIDS.
Did Rose have a sad ending? Oh boohoo, she got separated from the Doctor. Here's how Rose left;
She got her mom. She got her dad back from the dead. Her mom is pregnant, if I remember correctly. ROSE GETS HER OWN FREAKING DOCTOR AND JUST UP AND DUMPS MICKEY. Sure, she's stuck in a parallel universe, but she gets her own Doctor. Wow, so sad. My heart is shattering.
So while Martha has to put up with her family, Donna gets to forget everything she really is and Amy and Rory are DEAD, Rose is off in her own universe with people crying about how she had the saddest ending.
No. Just no. If anybody, Donna had the saddest ending. She doesn't get to remember any of the joy she had. She gets to live life being the most important woman, without knowing it. She gets to walk around while Wilfred knows that if she remembers, she'll die. But no, obviously Rose had such a sadder ending because she got her own Doctor and her entire family back. Obviously.
Then there's the fact that the Moment chose to be Rose. The Moment looked into the Doctor's entire timeline up until that point, and picked the face that would give him the most hope. ROSE SHOULD NOT HAVE BEEN THAT FACE. THERE ARE SO MANY BETTER OPTIONS.
Let's take River Song for one. His wife, the psychopath born to kill him. He married her, she changed. She gives him hope, she would've been better than Rose. She was his bloody WIFE for crying out loud. And before somebody tells me about how Rose and the Doctor had a thing, or about Elizabeth, I AM AWARE. But River and Eleven's story was so heartwrenching, because each of them knew when it would end. But they held strong anyways. The Doctor married her, knowing that she would die and River married him, knowing that one day he would come to her and she would have no idea who he was. That should give him hope.
Then there's Martha. She wasn't like the others, she left of her own free will. Rose was forced out, Donna forgot and Rory was stolen which, for lack of a better term, pressured Amy into going after him. Martha literally told him off and strutted out of that TARDIS. And for those who think she was like a lovesick puppy, she was only acting human. People hate her for acting human. I personally love her, and how she acted. She reminded me of myself before my girlfriend and I started dating. Hell, she was the one who saved the day in Human Nature/Family of Blood. She had to snap useless human Doctor out of it so that he'd actually do something. She travelled the world just to spread a story. Martha Jones is a true badass. And when she left, the Doctor looked proud. PROUD. Because she stood up to him and told that she had had enough. That gave him hope.
Then there's Donna. Everything she did that she can never remember. Without her, he'd be dead. It's canon, can't deny it.
The Ponds. Amelia, the girl who waited. Rory, the boy who waited. Amy waited for him, and Rory waited 2000 years for Amy. That's something incredible. That gave him hope.
And what about Susan? Susan, his own granddaughter. He was never the last of the Timelords, Susan is still on Earth. They've confirmed that she hasn't died. Susan, before the 50th, was all he had left. His granddaughter, living on earth with her husband. That would give him hope. That would take him beyond hope. But no, instead of his own flesh and blood, they pick a teenager he had a small love story with. Yeah, cause that makes SO much sense.
Hell, even the Master should've given him more hope than Rose did. The Master literally switched sides at the last minute and saved the universe. That takes freaking guts.
I don't care if you hate me for this, Rose is honestly overrated.

um... it was not rose it was "bad wolf" the girl who looked into the tardis and made things right. although I agree partly. that a bit o.t.t? anyway. john hurt is the 8.5 doctor, he did not know the ponds, or river, or Martha, OR donna so none of them would have given more hope to him. the point was she was a good actor and people loved her. the point was to bring back old actors! and she soo pulled it off. I loved her in that show. sorry

"Bad Wolf" and Rose are really the same thing... "Bad Wolf" is Rose when she looked into the heart of the TARDIS and stuff. Still Rose.
The War Doctor didn't know Rose/Bad Wolf either. He wasn't the Ninth yet. The only companions War Doctor knew were the ones from classic Who.
Ehh, I just think they could've done better with someone else. Especially Donna — Doctor Donna. They could've done great with that idea.

Hey, guys, you've probably discussed this before, but when did you start watching Doctor Who? I started watching it in 2003, and I started with the Second Doctor. But then, when New Who came out in 2005, I sort of abandoned Classic Who and watched New WhoBut now I'm watching Classic Who again XD
