Is it possible to change the colors of a dragon? I'm mainly asking because on my starting dragon, I didn't quite know how the genes worked and he has Obsidian primary, Royal secondary...and Caribbean tertiary. It didn't matter much while he was sitting at Basic genes all around, but now that I want to possibly start saving for my own gene project and, if I do, I would definitely want to include him in it! Though, the blue might be a little hard to match with the black and purple depending on what gene I want to put with him.

So, point is, is it possible to change the gene colors?

Only with a scatter scroll, and you can't choose.

You can , but you have to use a scatterscroll.
Which I thinks is 300g ?
But its completely random.
You never know what colors you could end up with.

you can do something called a scatter scroll (350gems or something) , but the colors are completely random and can either be great or terrible! I personally love him the way he is now and think you could do some lovely things with him if you are willing to spend a little ^^

fyi butterfly looks amazing on him
giraffe/butter/spines or okapi or glim is lovely in my opinion
But those are gene genes and can be hard to get

like the people above me said, you can do that with a scatterscroll and it's completely random.

I think you can work perfectly with these colors.
I have a very similar dragon, she's slate/violet/stonewash.

I'm sure you can work perfectly with the colors your dragon has right now, I personally wouldn't risk using a scatterscroll, you may end up with a bad color combo, the ones you've got are nice imo. :>
but tbh if you really want to change yours, go ahead!

my own starter dragon got a terrible tertiary, I made a nature dragon with beige primary and swamp secondary, but he got a royal tertiary, and there is no way I can make purple work with a nature dragon ff.
