when cartoonnetowrk announced we'd be getting a new gem in this episode, i was pretty excited. because - oh my gosh. a new gem! maybe this time, this gem'll get to stick around and get actual character development unlike bismuth.
yeah, needless to say, i was pretty disappointed to learn that it was ronaldo. though, in hindsight, it probably should have been obvious.
the only good things about this episode (in my opinion) was the fact that steven actually stood up for himself and called ronaldo out on his bullcrap, steven not denying ronaldo when he had said "you only let [connie] stick around cause she's your girlfriend!", and pearl and amethyst. honestly these two are my precious beans and i love them please protect??

but yeah, needless to say, kind disappointed, kinda hate ronaldo again i like jasper better than him. jasper but other than that... steven standing up for himself was nice. <

I think it wouldn't have been so disappointing for a lot of people if they hadn't of teased us with that gemstone image. I think most people were assuming we were getting a Ronaldo Episode™ but the bloodstone post hyped them up

I was already expecting a subpar episode since I learned the episode name and then when CN dangled the bloodstone pic yesterday I did a double take and actually did get excited before I thought gemsona coupled with the episode's name (Rocknaldo) and then I went of course bloodstone is edgy enough to be Ronaldo's gemsona. This honestly should've been an April Fool's episode with that viewbaiting they did. Can't believe they made a fake picture just to eff with us. Well played I guess? lol

I'm assuming since any of the crewniverse didn't reblog or post it that this was all CN's doing (the bloodstone teasing that is).

Also did Ronaldo's voice sound... different? Or is it just because I haven't heard him talk in a while?

one flaw aobut your theory is that diamonds can change - on pearl's space suit, yes it has a pink diamond but also jasper served pink diamond, and nowhere do we see pink on her (contrary to the jaspers now under blue's rule.) .

probably not. why move one jasper to YD's authority when you move all the others? think about it. blue diamond "took control of pink diamonds zoo" (as said by holly blue agate in gem heist) and that can be seen as blue basically took a lot of pink diamonds things when she died.
does that also mean amethyst was moved to white diamond because when she shapeshifts to a bigger amethyst she wears a white diamond on her chest, or is that just a colour scheme?

also, I just watched rocknaldo.

unless you see bloodstone as maybe an actual gem who'll join the crystal gems but I highly doubt that.<

Yeah that was a teaser for Rocknaldo, the newest episode that aired this past Friday (Feb 24th). And well (spoilers but since you don't watch anymore I'm sure you don't mind spoilers haha) they played us. Not a new Gem it was just basically Ronaldo's gemsona lol.

The picture they showed of the Bloodstone never even appeared they just made it for teasing us. Steven just called Ronaldo bloodstone because he "joined" the Crystal Gems and picked that as his "gem name". Cartoon Network also posted a follow up post after the episode aired congratulating the people who guessed right that it'd be Ronaldo's "Crystal Gemsona" as they put it.

a lot of people are let down at the fact that there wasn't actually
a new gem, but see i'm surprised more people didn't catch it from
the start, i knew it smelled sort of clickbaity, if you know what i
mean lmao. but i wasn't expecting anything big for this reason, as
i knew they wouldn't just randomly announce some new gem, i feel
as if it would be in some sort of bigger episode, but i'm not entirely
sure about that, as of course, way back when peridot made her first
appearance, it was just a regular eleven minute episode, but it was
also, the beginning of a new plot. as she became the main antagonist
for a while. they never announced that, but then again, i don't think
the fandom was that big at the time considering it was somewhat
early in the series. all i can say is, to those whom were actually
expecting a new gem, you obviously don't know cn's ways lmao

Yeah, but would the artists make that if they weren't going to put that in? That leak is a good days, even a weeks worth of drawing. If it's just a spoiler, why not say look out for this person! With no image?

It wasn't a leak though?? Leak means unintended or accidental showing of info - meaning something that was not supposed to be released. It was posted by CN's offical accounts for promo-ing a new episode and wasn't taken down so therefore not a leak. Also it was just a single closeup drawing of a gem. They could have done that in like an hour, definitely not "months of drawing". Plus none of the crewniverse reblogged or reposted it, it was just on Cartoon Network's social media which makes me think this was just CN trying to get views for the episode. Someone on the CN advertising team could've just drawn it mimicking the show's style.

That's not to say we won't get a real Bloodstone but for now it looks like the image was made for the express purpose of messing with us lol

i figured out what greg's craziest weekends were.
in that will be all, he says "that's the third craziest weekend I've had!"
so what were his top two?
1: meeting rose
2: steven being born.

1 - we know this was a weekend, because of the episode story for steven and things like that. so this one is easy to work out.
2 - this one was harder, but if you think about it, it's easy. steven is fourteen years old. if you were born on Sunday, your 1st would be Monday, your 2nd Tuesday etc. every 7 years it comes back around.
so, how does this correlate? steven is 14. that means, in the episode "stevens birthday", it's been exactly 2 loops. so, the weekday "stevens birthday" was set will be the weekday steven was born on. pretty clever, huh?
but, I hear you say, we don't know what day "stevens birthday" was set on!
of course we do. why?
connie told us.
she said, "i'm so glad my parents could let me stay the weekend!"
which means, "stevens birthday" is set on a weekend. which also means, exactly 14 years before was also a weekend.
i'm pretty sure steven being born would be a crazy weekend.
so, greg wasn't kidding when he said that was his third craziest.
