Ok we want to Make a baby Peridot Adoptables and are brain storming Ideas We wanted know if You be in charge since you made art with little Peridots or um Me because I thought of Adoptables and um so We are just kinda thinking so um yeah ...um...

Yeah. I don't think making different coloured peridot passes under Fair Use.

Well, we could just scrap the Peridot idea and make our own gems, if that would fall under fair use.

Oh yes Fair Use only and generally deals with copy righted material such as canon characters, heavily theme based things (like ripoffs of the show or characters etc.), and any material shown in the show (this includes official merch and such).
Like if someone made and sold steven plushies or peridot plushies, this would violate Fair Use or other copy right laws as the person is making a profit off of something from the show without permission from the creators or crew.

Though you wouldn't be making money off the peridots...it just would be too much of a GREAT idea. I can see users being more interested in custom made characters that are not prevelent in the series UNLESS they are custom made gems. In canon it is said that there are many versions of each gem all with their own thing but serving a different purpose and often having partially distinct but uniform looks. So if you made your own peridots, it would fall under fair use as long as it is not an exact replica of peridot via personality or looks. An example being this:

From what I've looked into or at least heard, the creators and Rebecca Sugar don't really mind if OCs are made nor do they mind if an OC's gem is one of the canon characters as long as, you know, they're still their own unique character.
Now I wouldn't go around making an OC Garnet or a Diamond (since Garnet is a fusion of specifically a Ruby and a Sapphire and the combination might be a bit rare and coincidental to happen twice, and a Diamond is...well they're rulers or VERY high on the casting powers and may be unique to the show).

I see your point, yet what if a Garnet was an actual gem on homeworld (Not a fusion) Yet looked different to the canon Garnet in the show, like, instead of being tall and.. thick.. it was umm, sharp, maybe a bit more feminine?
Because 2 gems fusing was a fairly new point in homeworld, who knows where the name would come from?
I don't really think Ruby & Sapphire had a name for their fusion the first 2 times they fused, because it was ''the first time 2 different gems fused'' unless they fuse and they instinctively have a name for their fusion, since if 2 rubies fused it would just be "Ruby".
So if we made a non-fusion Garnet, would it fall under fair-use?

I would leave fusion gems alone all together since it's foreign territory and just...not make an occasional Garnet.

No I'm not saying we should make fusion gems because thats just, coping. Like maybe a small and sharp garnet, or whatever, not a fusion.
