hey i have a lot of feelings about chara if someone would like to indulge in this conversation please join in [but theres going to be spoilers from true pacifist + genocide ending!]

i really dont think chara is evil at all. obviously in the genocide run they do some nasty stuff, but it's pretty heavily hinted that you awaken/get possesed by chara in any run, hence landing on their grave in the ruins & their narrations. when asriel died after he absorbed chara's soul, chara's soul was destroyed too. if flowey lost his compassion from being soulless then so did chara - this is probably why they didnt regret killing the entire underground.
