im aware this topic is always preached on twitter but it just really, really bothers me when other people (typically females) love to slut-shame female idols for showing a little skin. people who slut-shame female idols are the exact same people who go crazy heart eyes over seeing their "oppas" take their shirts off on stage. double standards still exist in 2018? crazy. hyuna taking her shirt off stage isnt "slutty", it's being confident in her toned body and skin. if you worked for it, show it off.

ugh yes. i swear, when boy idols take off their shirt, or lift it up to show their abs or stomach they get praised but when girl idols do it they get called a s*ut and etc. i mean like did you see how much hip thrusts boy idols do usually? im pretty sure up and down didnt allow the hip thrusts on the comeback/when they performed such as on mbc.

some of the boy dances are straight up sexual like
jesus christ
nct's chain dance for example, or monsta x's hero
then how people everyone acts like up n down is ridiculously gross or oversexual like
jesus

talking about oversexual[ized]..

What do you guys think about the way a lot of fangirls/-boys talk about idols, especially male ones? I'm mostly active on Instagram and I've seen plenty of posts, fanart and edits that portray various idols like sexual objects. Whether it's sexualizing the idol's appearance or fantasizing about one of their ships - most of it is just plain disturbing.

I, too, find various idols attractive, but that's about it. I never really understood how some fans completely objectify the person they "love so much". I highly doubt they would be comfortable with a group of strangers -people they may never have met once in their life, some incredibly young, others maybe twice their age- expressing their sexual fantasies about them. I feel like some people seem to forget that idols are human beings too..

yeah. Probably has more to do with size of fandom. More people more toxicity. Happens everywhere.

i agree with this but at the same time there are some armys that make me embarassed to say i like bts.
the problem is that even though these sasaengs or koreaboo armys take up a small part of the fandom, people who aren't in the fandom only see these people because they stand out and they assume all armys are like them when that's not true at all. i wish people would stop generalizing us all into that one stereotype of fans, because we are obviously not all like that and it's honestly embarassing to be associated with them

^ it's really turned me off of the fandom to be honest, but I dont think I could ever let it get in the way of enjoying the music and artists themselves. I'm already in too deep ya know.
