Well, they both are pretty much the same thing but there is a lot of things different in fma that aren't in fmab, so I recommend you watch it to get a reeally good grasp on the plotline, y'know?

the plot remains quite similar for around (?) 10 ish episodes with some differences (it's been a while though, so I'm probably a bit off) before really diverging off into its own thing. fmab really skimmed over the beginning content (and fillers) that were already in fma. after watching fmab first you'll probably be disappointed with fma though, imo. I always convince my friends to watch fma and then fmab to save the disappointment, because brotherhood has a much better plot and ending.

I have questions about Boku wa Tomodachi ga Sukunai
Sex & Nudity
Violence & Gore
Profanity
Alcohol/Drugs/Smoking
Frightening/Intense Scenes
Does it include any of those? I know it is practically ecchi but by nudity I mean stark-naked.
i hate looking at all my old posts on this site!

[size=85]So I've been hooked on Fairy Tail for a few months now and officially I've caught up 100% with the show and manga.

I need some suggestions on what to watch/read next. Something similar to it, and Full metal alchemist.
So far i've already watched Blue exorcist, Fullmetal Alchemist, Fairy Tail, Nura: Rise of the demon capital /size]

personally, i find it really difficult to recommend animes to people; especially since tastes vary so greatly, but i think since you seem to like shounen themes, that there may be a few animes you'd enjoy.
If you like extremely long animes with a very large and immersive plot, i suggest Naruto and One Piece. My own experience with 'mainstream' animes was once i watched Bleach, then it was Naruto, then FMA:B, then Fairy Tail, One Piece, etc etc. It's a domino effect, and though they all have different worlds entirely, i enjoyed them all. (still in the midst of fairy tale and one piece.)
I'd also recommend Bleach.

I hear Magi might be something to look into as well. I haven't gotten around to watching it yet, but i'm assuming it should be good, considering the mad ravings i hear about it.

D.Gray Man is another. It has supernatural and superpower-esque elements to it. This is also another anime I've yet to watch, but again, similar themes and lots of good things to be said about it.

Hunter x Hunter. there are superpower themes in this one as well. Also another super popular one, (mainstream, probably.) and i have no personal words for this one either, because i havent seen this one either, lol.

Inuyasha This one is more comedic than anything, and there isn't much superpower theme going on here. It's recommended because it's funny, and even though i'm still very early on in Fairy Tail I believe this one would be enjoyable to watch.

Gintama. Made by the same studio, it's not very similar in themes, but it's hilarious and a bit ridiculous at times, with a weird alienish, feudal japan theme. there's action and interesting characters, so i'd say give it a shot.

Log Horizon. This one is Sword Art Online's rival anime. It's more political rather than action-y, but the characters are great, and i think the third season is on it's way. if you don't mind slower plots but really interesting twists with an awesome virtual world, then check it out!

I picked these out from personal preference, or because i've heard about them and trust that they would fit into this recommendation.
if you want to check out a list of animes that other people recommend, check this list out. It's pretty long, so you'll have quite a few to choose from. read reviews if you're unsure, yadda yadda.
hoped this helped a bit.

edit: it can also recommend mangas to you, just click 'manga recommendations' at the top.

Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood(way better than first series)
Basically Fma, but follows the manga way better

    Kagerou Daze/Mekakutcity Actors
A series about teen's that each go through a near-death experience, thus gaining powers that allow them to do multiple odd things. Music is amazing, based off of music videos, obviously recommend anyone who likes an amazing soundtracks and weird stories should watch.

    Warnings -
    Swearing
    Extremely weird plot

    Psycho-Pass - All-time favorite anime
A futuristic layout where crime is at an all-time low due to people being judged on what is known as their "Psyco-pass," which basically determines their sanity. You follow the story of a brand new investigator, and how her growing experience on the field effects both her own, and her comrades' psycho-pass, with the looming threat of a larger enemy growing near.

    Warnings -
    Gore
    Mild nudity
    Swearing

Higurashi no Naku Koro Ni - Almost beast Psycho-Pass in my favorite placement
This series is complicated, to say the least. Trust me when I say that's it's good. It's about a boy names "Keiichi Maebara" and his friends (too lazy to list them all). Everything will seem perfect, as if it's a happy-go-lucky slice of life anime until something known as the "cotton drifting festival" takes place, in which one or more characters snap, and everyone dies. But don't get to worried, because in the following episode, they'll all be back, and it'll be exactly the same as before-well, not exactly. There are a few differences in each arc, a fake example would be that arc 909318389 could be from Keiichi's perspective and then arc 1&28382938 could be from Rena's of the same exact story. It's a show that shows(no pun intended) how characters can snap, from who a doll will be given to, to a character dying and the traumatic aftermath.

    Warnings -
    Gore
    Mild nudity
    Swearing
    People literally going insane
