No other Pokémon was following the trainer so I'm not holding my breath on that. It was probably just the professors.... although idk why they thought it was a good idea to tease us if there isn't even something like the hearthome park in gen 4.

I'm a little more hopeful after the new trailer about it being a new story and not just a slightly different remake.

Edit: Ryuki is apparently in a place that looks very similar to lt surges gym in kanto... interesting.

There's still a possibility that feature is in the game. They wouldn't just make the animation restricted to one Pokémon when there's literally a walking cycle for all 802 Pokémon. Also-

...Wasn't Platinum literally just that? So far, USUM looks extremely different from every single third game we've had so far, so I fail to see why this even is a problem.

B2W2 was a completely different story. When they first announced USUM they said something that made it sound like it would be another platinum... I don't remember what and I'm to lazy to look it up. I'm sure if you type my username in the search bar you might be able to find my post commenting about it months ago, if you're curious enough.

I was told that the 3ds hardware couldn't handle all Pokémon following you on overworld. I don't know anything about technology so I'm just going by what I've heard from people more knowledable than me. I hope they're wrong though. :T
