Hey Bear Run community! I'm normally a little quiet when it comes to things that happen in Bear Run, but I figured I should at least speak up this time. c: Nothing in this little tid bit is meant to be taken or is said in a negative way, since that's not how I (or anyone) should settle things!
Firstly, I wanted to direct this at Rach (though do not take anything said here in a negative manner, I only say these things to help Bear Run move forward from all of this commotion and I am hopefully speaking for everyone. :>). I've never really seen severe mini-modding here, so maybe instead of seeing it as mini-modding, people are just trying to help or correct one another? Everyone's knowledge is limited to some extent, so don't be surprised if there are many answers to one question. ^-^ Also, I know others feel this way, so I'm going to also mention this. If you ever feel like people are butting heads with you or are afraid of you, it is because you come on a little strong sometimes as a moderator. Moderators should not want people to be afraid of them in order for them to be listened to, but they should want to feel respected. I understand getting a high ranking in a community can put stress, or even make people come on a little cocky even, but maybe things should be thought about before said. I know personally you've responded to me before and it came on a little sarcastic, and it did hurt my feelings when I meant nothing negative at all. :c I hope you did not mean it that way, but maybe you should read over something before you say it and think about how it may make another person feel. c: I'm not trying to blatantly say you're mean or something of the sort, you may not even mean to cause this feeling to people, I'm just letting you know that it is happening.
Moving on, I wanted to bring up the fact that almost everyone here (Mainly older members) has mentioned that Bear Run is not enjoyable anymore, that there is too much drama and things are always chaotic. Now, I hope it is realized by everyone that restoring and helping a community requires everyone's input. Everyone in the community must have the will to change themselves in order to change this community. As for the drama portion, this really can easily be fixed if people watched some of the things they say before saying them, and if others don't take everything in such a negative way. We're all here to enjoy Bear Run, so let's make it enjoyable. We are the community, we decide how the community feels and how enjoyable it is. Even though you may disagree with something, well, the truth is you're bound to disagree with something! Not everyone is the same person. :> Just maybe we should state our opinions in a more civil manner rather than just blowing up in a conglomeration of opinions and arguments so we all get along and there is not any drama that stems from these. Really, getting into arguments over something as little as prettying up forms is a little childish, no?
Next, I wanted to talk about the community not feeling as if they are a part of the community. I agree that sometimes we do feel a little left in the dust, but remember personally attacking Dream or anyone of authority in Bear Run is not the way to go. Dream has stated before that she is working on including us more, and you cannot expect that to happen immediately. Remember that everyone in Bear Run has a life of their own, and dealing with some community members on a child's website (no offense to anyone directly here, but that is what CS is.) that are constantly whining in a sense, is probably not always her main concern. You have to give her a chance to actually see some improvements. There's no reason why Dream would not want us to be a part of the community, so please, could everyone just chill for a little while and give Dream a chance so we can actually see some improvements? I'm sure if we are making her feel attacked, she won't want to help us at all, but who would?
Lastly, I wanted to direct this to Dream. I understand running a community can be hard, I've never personally done it, but I can just imagine the difficulty. Especially with a widely growing community such as Bear Run. When people are stating their opinions, it's not always drama. People are simply wanting to state what they feel and get it off their chest. I understand when you tell people to drop the subject it is because you do not want drama to start up and stir the community, but if anything that could make the community feel as if you do not want them to voice their opinions. As mentioned before, a poll or anonymous voting system on decisions in Bear Run would be a good way to go, as no one can really argue against the winning vote. Majority rules. I'm sorry if you ever feel personally attacked by Bear Run, but just know you are not. c: I hope everyone realizes that Dream is doing the best she can to help us, but I'm sure our attitude on opinions is likely taken in a negative way sometimes.
I'm sorry this ended up being so long, but I hope all of this information can further help Bear Run improve so we can make Bear Run enjoyable once more! If you disagree with anything said here, I'd rather you PM it to me (or not say anything at all) rather than cause a fight between yourselves, or cause my feelings to get hurt. I'm glad I could state my opinion and I really hope this impacts Bear Run in a positive manner now that these things have been said. ♥
