I’m still getting asks about clarification so here’s the basic lay-down about the new season:
It’s airing on July 3rd on animate.tv - an online stream - at 12:00 JST (Japan time).
Language: Japanese.
Will it be subbed? No. Fans usually do that. HOWEVER, if Funimation announces they will continue to license Hetalia we might get a simulcast (live stream with subtitles), although you need a paid subscription to see it right after it airs on their website.
Even then, fans will use the comics to make a subbed version for the episodes adapted from them.
Where can you watch it once it’s subbed? Wherever it shows up. This could be on Tumblr or some random other source. Chances are it’ll come to Tumblr anyway, and then other Anime sites will upload to watch it there.
I will reblog what I can find here to make it simpler.
If it’s not out yet, why are there screenshots/an episode available? A store in Japan held a special early screening for those who paid a fee. In addition, Japanese webstore Docomo also streamed early for those with a membership. Some people took screen shots. Others recorded the stream and uploaded it to a Chinese video viewing site, which is where the rough translation came from.
Leaks, yay!
July 3rd is still the official airing date, and is when the series will begin with one new episode each week. To watch these it’s the same thing.
Fans are fast, guys, so don’t worry about trying to find a subtitled version - or even the raw for that matter. It’ll be on your dash in no time.
