What do you think makes a good character form? (for tryout competitions)

i generally think that a really thought out and[/or, sometimes just really thought out ocs are p good] unique character makes a good form :>
i'm usually not a huge fan of try out art, actually, mainly because sometimes people are just like "even though you won, you can't use the art in my form" which?? confuses me greatly [unless they're gonna recolour it, i guess??]
idk i just don't particularly like try out art haha
but i mean a good, well developed, thought out character is generally what i'd look for as a judge tbh
but that might be bc i really love to read character development and see a realistic, well-rounded character and i love to really develop my characters further [when i'm not lazy pf] and idk i just love character development ok

writing stories and getting art does usually boost the chances of getting the character [even if only by a little bit] but i really love to see characters that are well-thought out too uvu

What do you think makes a good character form? (for tryout competitions)
Well, I like to see pretty forms - things with a lot of organized and colorful text, decorations, art, ect. It shows a lot of commitment and creativity. To go along with that, be unique with your ideas for the back-story of the character. Use cool names that really fit the design or personality, ect. That's mainly what I always keep in mind when making them, which is rare to begin with. ^^

I have a design that I'm taking offers on! He'll definitely be going, I'll be choosing the best offer for him in about an hour. I'd like him to go for at least 50 points.

this is a tough question. but i agree, i usually go for interesting personalities over art/pretty forms. i really like pretty forms, don't get me wrong! but if the personality is bland or unoriginal... sorry, you're probably not going to win. qq;;

Show us the best form you've ever done. Something you're really proud of! Did you win the character? What is particular makes this is the best of all your forms?
i haven't tried out for anything in forever, but i'm pretty proud of how my from for this term is going! it's not done yet, and i'm probably being silly putting a lot of effort into it when there isn't anyone else trying out (though they said they'd keep it if they weren't impressed by any forms ;;;), but i really like how it looks so far.
