Purpleily wrote:How to add items to your pet
A tutorial
I noticed a few people don't know how to add items to their fabulous new pets, but when you know how, its really easy!
I made a little tutorial for you all to follow...
You will need:
• GIMP - which is a free image editing program
• Your desired pet and items
Step One • Open up GIMP once you have downloaded it. There should be three windows that come up, a main window and two bars on either side. (See other if this is not the case) At the very top, click 'File' > then
'Open as Layers'. Choose your pet and your items from your files. You can select more than one file at once by selecting one, then holding down the 'ctrl' key and pressing another. Once you have all your files, click 'Open'.
Step Two • Your items should already be in the right place on your pet, but you may notice that for example the scarf will be over the top of the hair.
This is nothing to worry about! Just go over to the window on the right called 'Layers'. Click on the layer that you would like to move and drag it up or down, depending where you would like it to go.
Step Three • If you would like to move some of your items around, you will need to select the 'Move Tool' on the left window which looks like this:
You can then click on the piece of clothing or accessory that you'd like to move and drag it to your desired place.
Step Four • Now you've added all your items you want, so now to save your file! Click on 'File' again on the top of the middle screen and then click 'Export'. A window will come up like this:
Down the bottom of that window, is a little button that says 'Select file type'. It's really important that you click on that and choose '.png' file like the picture above.
If you are using MS Paint or save it as a 'jpg', your image will come out pixelated as a .jpeg file loses quality. A '.png' file save transparency which is useful, and are better quality. MS Paint will automatically save it as '.jpg' so it's handy to use GIMP or another editing program that does that. Once you've done that, click save and you're all done!
Other • If GIMP does open, but doesn't have the two extra side bars, go to the top and click 'Windows'. Then click 'Recently closed docks' (at the top of the list) and there should be the missing window. Click to open.
If you have any questions, please ask! I hope this was helpful! C:
