So there's all this fuss going on about whether the second game is a prequel or not. I'd like to post my opinion.... whether or not the game is a prequel is somewhat ambiguous. On the paycheck of the second game it says it's 1987, which is when the Bite took place. However, that doesn't explain why Mangle was the redesigned version of Foxy. Mangle does not appear in the first game, and the restaurant seems very updated since the first, which leads me to believe that it has reopened since the first.
Also, it is worth noting that the Phone Guy appears in both the first and second game, however, he supposedly dies in the first. There are two theories that support each side of whether the game is a prequel or not. The first is that The Phone Guy could have been working in 1987 until whatever date the first game takes place in, after Jeremy Fitzgerald quit/was fired/died/whatever happened to him. Then Mike Schmidt came in. The second is that somehow the Phone Guy survived whatever happened to him in the first game. The first theory is most likely the correct one, but there is no official answer to the question.
Well, that is my opinion. I just posted this to clear things up. I'd like to believe that FNAF 2 is a sequel, but like I said, it is ambiguous whether it is or not. There is enough evidence to support both sides. I'd like to hear what you guys think and what your opinion is!~ Please tell me if anything I said wasn't true, I've just put what I thought was true and there is every possible chance that something I said wasn't.
