Well in my opinion the 2nd season will probably will be mixed with TG:re cause the episodes are going really quickly compared to the manga

Unless everything falls into place in the end like the original plot, then I doubt it would mix in with TG:re. But even then, it wouldn't entirely match up with what TG:re is.

Honestly? The second season is just bad. As much as I'm interested for the new storyline, there are just so many things wrong with it.

Touka is too "lovesick," the animation hiccups are just ugh (the fights aren't even that good, it's stiff and boring), we hardly get any focus on what it's like for Kaneki in Aogiri (how does he fit in) and so on... I could go on and on, but you know. The only worthy moments of the new season are when you see the moments from the manga in the new season, and that's about it.

I don't really like it, but I'll continue to watch--as bad as it is so far, I'm intrigued in the new storyline.

While the season has some interesting parts, it's too rushed. Things are being revealed too fast, some of the characters are not getting the development that they had in the manga (instead being shoved into dumb character tropes) and it's relatively boring.

The only exciting parts seem to be the parts we've been waiting to be animated, seeing characters, and loose ends tied that we're we 99% sure were true already (Like Arata being Touka and Ayato's dad. I have been waiting for that.)

I'm probably a bit biased, but I love that they kept Akira almost the exact same as she is in the manga. Bit disappointed that they made her eyes blue though.

As you all know, I am a huge freaking Touken shipper, so being the writer I am, I started a fanfiction a couple months back. Recently, it has been hitting some very nice numbers (13.42k reads) and I am proud to say when I looked up Touka x Kaneki, it was on the first page of google search. Though I would love to share my work to some of you, I can not as it does have adult content (not that content u nastay xD).

As for the question about Root A, I am slightly disappointed in what was chosen to be left out and added. Don't get me wrong, I love a beserking Kaneki running around and screwing up some lives but it was much too rushed. The opening- just no. I am sorry but the lyrics. Drinking paint dry? Prostitutes spitting fire? Aannnddd how does this have to do with anything in Kaneki's life? They need to swap the closing song and opening song in my own personal opinion. Or just get back Unravel cause that was a beautiful song an opening. I will agree, Touka's feelings are a little too evident in all cases considering she had been a very cold character in season one who rarely gave even a smile. Suddenly, she's pouting over Kaneki leaving to Agori- the same place she lost her brother to. Upon all this change, it makes me curious on what they are trying to set up.

On the bright side, some of the OSTs have been so good <3

13.42 k reads? Not bad. I'm not a big shipper for TG, but I'll have to read it some time.

The new opening was indeed disappointing, 'cause I've been used to Unravel for so long, but as the weeks have progressed, I've began to like it more. Some of the lyrics you shouldn't take so face-on, they're more symbolic than Unravel. (after all, TG loves using things that have a deeper or questionable meaning to set the mood)

The animation for the theme however, despite what I see they're trying to get at, I think should have been done different.

Hahh! Congrats on the many reads, lmao. I've written a bunch of fanfiction before for other fandoms, but they've never gotten many reads or anything--I think it's because of my writing style, which has a bunch of symbolism in it, so I guess to understand what I write you have to analyze it along the way?

I don't know, the only thing I have going for me is the Tokyo Ghoul imagine blog I co-run with an amazing fellow admin uvu We hit a thousand followers just last week, it was amazing.

The opening is something I don't really mind, the lyrics are kind of interesting if you think about it. It's a really slow song though and does fit more with the ending, but you know, eh. Now Unravel, holy snickerdoodles that was an amazing song. I remember watching it and going, 'oh, who's the guy with the white hair at the end?' Now I know ;u;

I really like the soundtrack though! Especially that song at the end of episode one, oh my gosh uvu

For some odd reason, I can't stand Eto. I don't even understand what kind of character she is and what she'll do to the plot as she does have interest in Kaneki. As long as she doesn't turn around and try to murder our baka kaneki, I'll remain a neutral dislike to her. I could rant on but I don't think that'd be appropriate. u.u

Now, lets be honest, Hide is such a cutie here. I love how we learn a bit more about him working as a delivery kid in the CCG (kinda sorta) and how he will probably add some more dynamics to Kaneki and the other main characters. He knows and offers more about Kaneki's past than I think Ken does himself which I personally love when any type of show does that.

When it comes to TG, surprisingly, I don't really tend to dislike characters. None of the characters more so recently given their introduction in the anime give me that feeling of wanting to hate them. So I'll skip over this part of question.

However, for favorite, I'd have to say Akira (like I previously mentioned before). The second I saw her in the manga I liked her. She's serious, logical, and gosh is she pretty. Even in :RE, she still kept her unique composition, despite not being so blandly serious as in TG.
