"I...I...I...I have never been a great archaeologist, okay?" Archie said, looking away from Cleocatra's glaring blue eyes.
Cleo's facial expression softened. She never really thought she'd ever forgive this dog for taking her things, but her mind thought otherwise. She saw tears pricking at the corners of his eyes. He went on.
"I've always wanted to be like the others. But they doubted me. They ridiculed and laughed at me, Cleocatra. They hated me. The day I stumbled upon your tomb, miss, is the day I thought I'd stop being depressed about all the things they've said, but, I guess I was wrong. I am a grave robber, Cleocatra. And I'm so, so sorry." Archie finished explaining, a tear rolling down his face.
Cleocatra couldn't say a word. She did feel utterly sorry but annoyed at the same time. She watched as Archie slumped to the ground, bowing his head and cringing with his eyes tightly shut as if to not let anymore tears escape. His disheveled braid hung limply by his face. With that, she bounded over to him and put the side of her face against his.
"Archie...I can't stay mad at you forever." She sighed, trying to find the right words.
"You...you're a great archaeologist. Never listen to what the others say, Archie." With that, Archie smiled, tears pooling and threatening to spill over his eyelids. Cleocatra nuzzled her face into the crook of his neck.
"Don't let anyone tell you otherwise."
It's summer vacation and I'm sitting here reading Chicken Smoothie Fanfictions.
What am I doing with my life?
