I think they just may be avoiding the word "sex"?

That crossed my mind too, a few other websites I used to be on did the same. I don't understand why, though.

The new symbols look bad.

XD All our wordy responses in one simple sentence. But yeah. They look awful. It didn't fix anything but make it clunky and stupid. I wish they'd change it back. X3

i agree with that, I wouldn't be suprized if a suggestion comes out to change the symbols to just male/female

What i think they tried to do was follow the pokemon thing where they just have the symbol

I'm surprised people didn't force FR into making the other genders. We'd have a list of 18 different things that make no sense. This is a breeding sim. People get WAY too into it.

I think it's more that the word sex is awkward. People avoid using it in any context. They protect their kids from it and it's just awkward for society as a whole. Proper term or not it's awkward and you'd have people finding offense from it.

and guys ... you aren't supposed to cover eyes on skins, I read it a while ago, I think it's on the custom skins info thing..

It wasn't about the genders though it was about the grammar and continuing the old idea that sex=gender Which it does not they are not meant to be interchangeable. So that is why it was just male/female related

I can see why the "Wow" One didn't win it covered more then 30% and it messed with the overall line

But on the skin Yes you are not supposed to cover the eyes

I can't believe though that so many people got offended by the smallest thing though and it ended up looking terrible. But maybe if we raise a petition against it they may change it back? Remember when they changed the 'you can't collect tokens from the coli anymore' back to you could?

it's just .. it's such a small thing meant for ... kids I guess in a sort, it doesn't need to be ruined by butthurt tumblr people who fret over a word ._.

They were interchangeable up til everyone needed their own gender. Can't just be like everyone else. everyone decided they had to be special and I'm kinda tired of everyone pushing it on everyone. You can be special just don't force your special-ness on me.
I mean, It's like bringing sexualities to FR. It doesn't make sense and wouldn't change how things are run. It's purely a technicality based solely on personal perception.

I find it highly laughably that people insist it was supposed to be that way when potions in every single game I've played are consumed. Because. WOW. You consume potions?!?!

Yeah but they can't cover eyes. The eyes are important to showing their element. They didn't revoke that for the event. :3
