I have a couple.

You probably seen them but if not Death Note or Black Butler are amazingly popular and for a good reason, they are really good animes.

Darker Than Black - Basically there are people called contractors with powers but when they use their powers they have to pay a price (for example, one of the guys has to break his finger if he uses his power.)

Black Blood Brothers - It's about vampires and different bloodlines.

No. 6 and From Up on Poppy Hill (I haven't seen the rest) aren't slice of life at all. I can say with certainty that if you like realistic slice of life then you probably won't like No. 6 even slightly, in my opinion.

All my fav slice of life anime does have some fantasy to is. I have a couple on my to-watch list. Kimi to Boku looks very interesting, maybe try that? It's just about higo school boys. No fantasy element to my knowledge; supposedly it's just about friendship. I plan on watching it after I finish what I'm watching now ~
