Yagami Light is a 17-year-old genius from Japan who is tired of his life, school, and the state of the world as he knows it. One day, on the way home from class, Light stumbles upon a dark notebook with "Death Note" written on the front. Intrigued by its appearance, Light reads the first few sentences, only to find out that it states that anyone whose name is written inside will die. Discarding it as a joke, Light continues his daily activities. Soon after though, his human curiosity takes the better of him and prompts Light to try the notebook, discovering the truth behind first sentence. Now, with power in his hands, Yagami Light is on a quest to change the world and become God of the New World. After reading Seven Days for the second time, I couldn't resist the urge to read Hana no Mizo Shiru..

Anyway, I'm starting Shinsekai Yori. Have any of you seen it before? I've heard amazing things about it, and the first episode seemed pretty interesting, albeit terribly confusing.

I watched some of Shinsekai Yori, can't say I was into it. Tbh I really only watched it for the supposed yaoi that I believe was supposed to happen in episode 8?

In terms of yaoi, I've read quite a lot, but most aren't very appropriate orz

Also for the newcomers (aka anyone who joined after I left), all of y'all should read Black Bird! It was the first manga I ever read and it officially ended in June, but the online scanlators haven't caught up yet. Anyways, it's really clichéd, but it's my favorite~ ϵ( 'Θ' )϶

Speaking of scanlation teams, I'm actually a QCer for Transcendence Scans, the very team that does Black Bird!!

The last Black Bird chapter is out if I'm not mistaken. Read it, though I skipped quite a few chapters.
I found the story interesting, but somehow not interesting enough to ge me addicted.
Maybe you are interested in Reimei no Arcana (also ended recently, still need to read the end myself, but I know what happens), Immortal Rain (ended, still reading myself) Dengeki Daisy (still reading myself, though currently not so much) - some longer romance mangas.
