I don't think Evangelion is very mainstream outside of tumblr, it has a lot of action with a season of anime, a movie, and 3 reboot movies. But, if you like to watch a whole season and 4 movies in one sitting, I wouldn't recommend doing that with this.

Perhaps Fate/Zero, it's the prequel to Fate/Stay Night and in my opinion much better than the original c: it has a lot of fantastic action scenes and while the story is a little confusing at the beginning it all comes together c:

Another suggestion is Bacanno! It's a little like the New York mob movies with awesome action sequences!!! I cannot suggest this anime enough!

Dat dancing Rin in the ending though. hips don't lie

I have this terribly ominous feeling that something will happen to Makoto, maybe he'll decide to move away, or...I don't know, guess we'll have to wait and see. The really quick shots of Haru crying/ being really angry/ I can't even tell in the opening were interesting, seems like we'll have some drama this time around.
