Provide a short (or long if you wish), description of what profession/trade/job your pet is portraying:Many people feel that they have stories/a story to tell.
An author is someone who writes to tell you those stories, whether it may be fiction or nonfiction.
If they aren't a well known author, they will have to pay a publisher to publish their book but if they are a well known author, they get asked by different publishers to get their book published with that publisher and the publishers will pay the author to get the book published with them.
Before a book gets completely published, they lend out small of uncorrected page-proof copies for people to read and praise (I myself have several unpublished books thanks to a book club I had joined, it is great because I got to read books no-one else had!). Because there is no set guidelines for authors (other than good story line, good grammar etc.), there is no one-size-fits-all job description.

The publishers were getting restless, it had been nearly a year since her last 'big hit' book.
She had no idea that the time had flown so quickly and she had been so immersed in more reading than writing!
She jotted down a few notes and scribbled out a few images.
