How much gore on a character is to much?
Because it is so cushioned, on CS it seems any gore is too much... Even an amount equivalent to a scraped knee.
But in my opinion, on a character off CS then any gore is okay, as long as it is purposeful. If you can back it up, then sure, why not. But some have very little point to it other than to creep others out, and that's not okay. If you're going to have a gorey character, be careful who you show it to, as it will not be everyone's cup of tea.
Also, as a biology student, defying nature without an explanation gets on my nerves a little. It's fine for others to do, but I won't have a gorey character without an explanation as to why they're like that, why their wounds haven't killed them etc XD

How much gore on a character is to much?
Well, in my personal characters, like if I'm buying them or owning them, very little XD Scars are OK, missing limbs are OK, but anything bleeding or gaping or anything, I'm not gonna draw or design or keep in any way or anything. I have a medical condition concerning gore ;; so I dislike drawing, thinking about, seeing, etc, anything gorey, it makes me very uncomfortable to be short ;;
Obviously though just bc I have a medical condition doesn't mean no one can have anything gorey XD So I think a bit of gore, small wounds and blood, is fine, but if it's on CS it should be linked. And in other places, at least a bit of a warning~

How much gore on a character is too much?
For me, it isn't "how much gore is too much" but more of "how much gore before it becomes unreasonable?"
Some gore characters exist only to scare people - to me that's a "no." I'm okay with any level of gore, including spilled organs/displayed insides (even though that is actually the bane of my existence and I would die if you showed me any pictures of that so please don't!), if it is within reason. I always have to wonder how long it'll be before a character who constantly bleeds all day will drop dead from blood loss if ever. How do headless characters even function or talk without lips/teeth? Can anybody answer that?
I do have my demon wolf, Talon, except he doesn't bleed 24/7. It's only if he's stressed out or over exerts himself. He can go well over a week without bleeding anywhere to recover from losing blood.
So far the most gore-y character on my garden world section is the blue ghost (no organs spilling out - just blood), but I have a reason as to why he looks that way.
(He's a ghost, too. He's not going to drop dead of blood loss at any point - already dead.)

i like gore, but this is a kid's site so oozing wounds and innards isn't a good idea. ^^;
i'd say like... small gashes and like bloody paws or muzzles is fine though.

I agree with that, most of my gorey ones are dead so the bleeding doesn't do any damage but I often wonder how headless characters can exist, might just be me over thinking things though.
