[b]I have a Dessert-themed Cerberus character, which I paid over 150 dA points for [url]http://fav.me/d730cq8[/url]. So, it's been weeks since I got it I believe. And I just got a comment that warns me about it looking like another artist's character [url]http://fav.me/d6yc9zj[/url]. Here's the issue, they warn me about how it looks too much like the second character and the artist's dessert adoptables. That's all they warned me about, and also how other people may come and critisize me and the artist I had commissioned for my character.

Thing is, I respect the artist of the second Dessert character- her art is amazing. But I don't believe food-based or dessert-based characters are copyrighted right? The art style is completely different.. and there are obvious differences between the two. And before I even ordered my custom, I've seen numerous Cerberus food designs around. I just got a bit worried at first, but it shouldn't be an issue right? Lately I've seen a big boom of dessert-themed characters too, and I've seen people accusing artists or copying the artist of the second linked character even though dessert characters can't really be copyrighted.[/b]

To me, they honestly look nothing alike, so I wouldn't worry about it. And I don't think food-based characters are copyrighted.

@neko, i wouldn't say the concept could be copyrighted, but the actual character/design [really, as long as the design is not too simple [like, a plain white cat]] can be copyrighted c:

You have posted this at least three times now, please stick to the reposting rules...
And I asked you last time to credit, and you have not done that, so please don't ignore me again. Crediting is only fair to the artist/designer.

They're not similar at all, besides being based of ice cream. Which is quite common. LOL ;;
