I'm not ashamed at all for liking animated films even of I'm (technically) an adult/older teen person. ^^ I think animated films are the future of the movie industry. I mean look at all you can
do with it. You can create completely new worlds. You can explore different art styles and designs. You can use color and shape as metaphors. In animation, you're completely unlimited. For me seeing a totally different world - one that an artist created from scratch, is really refreshing. They're paintings compared to photographs. You can only take a beautiful photo of our world, but you can paint anything you can think of. It's the same with animation.
If only the American film industry would just get over this stigma of animation only being for children. -_-
Which brings me back on point to that awful teaser trailer for 'Frozen'. It was adorable, yes. But I
hated that trailer. I hated that creepy snowman (I did fall in love with him in the movie though; he wasn't as annoying as I thought he'd be). But then, Disney releases the Japanese trailer around the same time, showing Elsa running across the lake with dramatic music and really pushing the drama and darkness and sister angle. I enjoyed the
Japanese trailer which I couldn't even understand, more then the American one. In fact the American one had me dreading the movie - while the Japanese one actually restored my hope.
What gives Disney? Why can't we get the awesome trailers?

I just... don't understand their marketing on that. Did they want more younger kids to go see it? Because to me, younger kids will probably go see it anyway. 'Cause it's Disney. And has princesses. I should think you'd want to try and appeal more to the teens and adults who grew up loving Disney and want to see the company tackle new and dramatic stories. They're the ones that are harder to win over. But then what do I know about marketing? XP They grossed over $700 million worldwide last I heard. Maybe annoying teaser trailers are all part of their diabolical plans...
