I see what you mean ziggy - but I've been asked to pay two sorbets for a marionette.
However if someone offers a pet that's the same rarity but four months away... that's not worth it.

In regards to the FTT... I'm not sure. I mean if there are specific times where all the advice is bad then maybe. I remember seeing posts like "Wow there's no one who knows rarities on the FTT right now" and heading over there myself to help. It's good to have a heads up since I don't always check that thread.
But I'm not sure. I think we need to make sure that the TRT really stays on topic if we want to get our rights back and I'm not sure where that stuff should fall.

In regards to locking things here's my personal take:

Okay:
- Ranting about certain items listed in rules as NFT (e.g. only have one of, store items, the fox plushie, etc.)
- Ranting about offers of pets that go against your rules for C$ (i.e. if rules say C$ for list only and they're offering a random rare)
- Ranting about 1-sided suggestion or PM "offers" on completely locked pets
- Ranting about 1-sided suggestions/PMs asking for C$ when it is locked and can't be added to your side

Not okay:
- Ranting about all items being NFT but they're still unlocked
- Ranting about random items being NFT with no indication in rules - how are they supposed to know?
- Ranting about all offers on C$ when C$ is NFT (since you can select to "lock" C$ offers)

i think you should be able to rant about all nft items if you have rules clearly indicating theyre nft.

i keep my items open because i hoard SO MANY, and my wishlist contains not only hoard items, but items i have yet to own, how are players going to know what i need and what i hoard if they cant see the items.

what about ranting if someone clearly broke your rule(s)?

i have a rule of no one sided suggestions/trades, pets must be on both sides, if someone breaks that or any of my other rules, i should be able to rant

ranting on an unfair trade that is like someone offering you their jan 2013 pet, for your august 2013 pet,that are common, isnt a big problem, i dont go by the 3 month rule with uncommons or below, but getting a trade where pets are same rarity but 2 years a part o.O

or rants about how some pets have low demand or no demand, i dont go by this either, i think all pets are euqal to me, but for trading purposes some pets i just cannot take

what about not ranting at all about demand? It seems some people rant about it, then give in and overpay for it

AND another pet peeve, someone PMs you and asks if you have a certain pet for trade,i may come off as rude, but i tend to reply back with "Do you see any in the trade groups?" or Are there any in the trade folders, something along those lines

cause i just got a pm asking if i had any malk crates for trade -.-

I just list what items are hoards in my trade rules that way there's no confusion. :) To me it just seems pretty similar to having an unlocked NFT pet group if absolutely none are for trade. You could always do that - that way you wouldn't have to worry about getting offers on something that you don't want to trade. :)

As far as demand goes I don't think it can be a complete shut out because it does play a pretty big part in trading. The BA is listed at 9 times its true value by demand and the joker upwards of 15 times what it's actually worth. Repetitive demand rants are obnoxious - and I definitely think "I gave in to demand" ones should be way out. But I don't want to say that someone who offers a september rat for an advent dog can't rant if the other person calls it "unfair by demand."

I just list what items are hoards in my trade rules that way there's no confusion. To me it just seems pretty similar to having an unlocked NFT pet group if absolutely none are for trade. You could always do that - that way you wouldn't have to worry about getting offers on something that you don't want to trade.

As far as demand goes I don't think it can be a complete shut out because it does play a pretty big part in trading. have you seen the items i hoard? i have too many to list on my page, or make a collage out of, i pretty much hoard everything, with the exception of a few things, like wigs, masks, costumes,certain plushes i dont hoard, its easier to keep it open, then to lock it

Hm. I see what you mean but I'm not sure. It still seems like it could be an avoidable problem somehow.
If you hoard THAT many - I hope I don't sound rude but I just don't quite understand - why is it important for users to know which ones you are hoarding and which are just for your collection? Again I really don't mean to sound like I think what you're doing doesn't make sense. I think it does - but I just don't think that it quite fits in. I mean... that's kinda like saying I have upwards of 100 hoard groups (which some users do) and they're unlocked but NFT so you can see what I hoard.
That would fall under the rule of ranting about unlocked NFT pets.
My biggest issue is that you're probably the only one user on the entire site who has that issue. I'm just not sure that it makes sense to avoid a rule for just one person you know? /shot

I am having difficulty understanding as well

Is your items open because you trade some? I could see that as a reason for having it open

for example I have many Red paint splatters, but I use most of them so my items are open because most of my items are for trade
So do you have items that are for trade? If you don't I feel it falls under the NFT rants ^^;

so players know what to offer me, so they know what i want, if i lock my items up, those who send me item trades wont know what im missing, and what i just hoard since everything is on my wishlist, if i get items i dont want to hoard, i remove it from my wishlist

unlike locked pets, you cant view someones items hoard, at least with hoards, even if locked your able to view them from that players collection

with items, theres no option for that, yet.

i cant separate my item hoards from items i only want one of

and theres no rule in regards to not offering on NFT items, only nft pets in open groups.

i wish though they would actuallt have the ability to lock items but still make them viewable, so i could prevent offers on my items -.-

my items are never for trade Azuri, because i hoard so many items, i just cant stick them all on my trade page, or make a pic of them all and plaster it on my trade page

the items on my wl are either hoards, or items i just want for a collection (some items i have one of, are starting hoards like the cupcake mouse, and pocky as examples)

Topiratti, I know there isn't a rule about ranting about NFT items right now but we were kinda talking about putting one in - because honestly while I sort of get it in your case honestly if it's on your WL people should be able to see what you want. They might offer you more than one of something you don't hoard but you could always just edit.
It's just one of those avoidable things that gets obnoxious to people who don't get the point. "If you don't want offers - lock it" is the basic philosophy and honestly there's a reason for it. When it wasn't a rule there were loads of those posts every page. To other people it seems silly and pointless and like you could easily avoid the problem and avoid the rant.

I get what you mean about viewing items. It would be nice to have that option and I see your point but I just don't understand why it's so important for players to know which items are just for collection and which are just for hoards if you have all of them on your WL and want them all.

If the items you need and hoard are on your wishlist, why do you need to leave them open? There's already an option for "items on your partners wishlist" so I don't see how they wont know what to offer ;v;

Yeah but why would that matter? I mean people aren't really gonna search through your items to see what you hoard anyway ;v; It seems like a pointless thing to do when you don't want offers on your items, if they're on your wishlist people will probably offer them to you ;7;
