Maybe we could have a test-week, just to test how it works when they remove the rule.

Maybe there should be a new rule added when you rant, that you shouldnt be able to rant that your not accepting trades if all of your groups are open.

no offence, but seriously, if your groups are open, even if you have in bold big lettering in 1000 font your not accepting trades, you should maybe lock your groups? so you DONT get offers on pets? i dont care if you have 100000 folders open, no one can send you a trade if your groups arent open, its like ranting on NFT open group pets -.-

Well also lots of the spam was from people calling out other players instead of simply reporting/ignoring them.
I remember once there was an argument that went on for pages. It mainly consisted of one person calling someone out on something, and then everyone else jumping on the bandwagon and annoying the other person.

But I think a test week is a wonderful idea.
Gives us a chance to show that we really do care about this. c:

A few comments over what has been said while I was away:

1. I like the actual drafting of new rules and suggesting of a time frame to test this - the mods will definitely like to hear specific ideas and examples better than "We should change ____."

2. Posts that had anything to do with new eyes, needing new eyes, passing around new eyes, etc. drive me absolutely crazy. They're about the only types of posts that were actually painful for me to read. I'll be quite honest - I have a slight fear/discomfort when it comes to eyes and those posts just freaked me out not to mention they're really pointless and honestly pretty immature. But even more than that about 4/10 posts a page had something to do with eyes. The one thing I do like about the no reply rule is that that trend died. Sorry. That was just a personal thing lol. Moving on.

3. Trial week... I like the idea but I feel like it needs to be longer than that. I mean the first week would probably go pretty well since everyone would be worried about making sure they followed all the rules and whatnot. I personally would say we need a little more time for people to get used to replying again and then we would see some more mistakes or rule breaking posts as people got more comfortable with the idea - especially those who didn't use the thread when we couldn't before. I'm not saying a week is a bad idea - I just feel like a little longer might be more helpful for gathering long-term data. :)

4. No one is ever going to completely stop rule-breaking. But spam posts should always be reported. I think more and more people are getting into the habit of reporting with the new rule and I know that I would probably have replied to spam telling them to stop spamming in the past - which makes a lot more spam. Replying to posts to tell them they're breaking rules should never apply to pure spam. Spam including the "oh wow," "ouch," "my eyes!" posts. Reporting those will help clean up the thread a lot. And like was mentioned above - there's still spam now. People are still breaking rules. I still don't feel like all communication should be cut off for it though.

5. A bit with what Rain said - once is enough. If someone breaks a rule only one person needs to reply saying they did so. If someone posts it before you and you see it pop up - don't try to submit your posts again. And these too should have rants to follow so that we don't have a bunch of posts just calling out rules left and right. Everyone makes mistakes but people who know the rules don't need to see them being restated every page.
Have a good day y'all.

Do you agree that the no-reply rule should be removed? (Y/N) yes;; definitely
Brief description of your stance: I really loved replying to the other posts;; it was nice to be able to rant and see others share your frustration. And besides, I never saw anyone get truly mean/abusive with this rule.

Brief description of your stance: The TRT now moves far more slowly than it used to, and I think it has totally lost the camaraderie. I think it would make it more popular, and sociable, and civilised. Although I agree that comments of just a couple of words should not be allowed.

It's getting harder and harder to bite my tongue when I read the TRT. So many players post trades that are fair and complain about how unfair they are. Having older/more experienced users unable to correct their assumptions is a big letdown in the general trading arena. Perhaps this has also led to the general 'negativity in trading lately. Not being able to rely on the FTT is also a major blow for trading. I'm afraid if these issues aren't dealt with, things will only get worse.

I have to say I am disgusted too, the TRT is where I learned a lot, if anything it should be open for educational reasons

I have to agree with you guys - I learned way more on the TRT than I ever could on the FTT - mostly because I found out which users were reliable and whose advice I could actually trust. Not to mention seeing the bad trades on the thread and the ones that weren't really bad being corrected made a huge difference.

And yeah go for it! I was gonna say - anybody who wants to put a link to this in their signature is more than welcome to - the more advertisement the better! :)

I'll update the members list soon by the way - it's late so I'm actually going to bed now lol.

Do you agree that the no-reply rule should be removed?:
Yes

Brief description of your stance:
We should be allowed to reply to posts!
I understand if someone uses one words, or no rants at all in the post is spam. But what if we made the rule similar like

"If you reply, you must have a TRADE Rant. You cannot reply, just to reply."

That way if they reply, it wont be spam about the rant, then they must post their own rant along with it!
Thats what I used to do, before the rule of "no replies"
I understand the bullying and harrasment, but thats the internet, and people wont stop.
As a community, we can "some what" control it.
Keep the rules the same, and if any spam/bullying/ganging up on, should be reported.
Or others give a friendly reminder and ASK them to edit the post.
Thats all I can think up right now :)
