Wild Mountain Equids: Fan Club V.4!

What do you look for when you pick your equids name? Is it based off a personality you have in mind, looks, etc.

I find a unique feature about them that reminds me of something and then I find that something (say strawberry) and I think of what the equids origin may be, say if its a red colored equid, I'd see what strawberry means in Irish/Gaelic, because red reminds me of Ireland:)

I don't really have a "rule" for naming equids, but normally something comes to my mind directly when I see that WME. :3
If that's not the case I name them after I thought of a personality.

That's what I do! Normally a name just comes to mind when I look at them; if it doesn't I don't normally try for them. I also sometimes name them after video game/tv characters, but their personalities don't often reflect their namesakes.

Usually I focus on a feature that kind of stands out to me on the equid, and then I just come up with things that remind me of it. I like picking names that have a certain meaning attached to them (like my Kailani, whose names means 'warrior queen' c:)

Alexander's the first name that came to mind, after Alexander the Great. ^^;
There's also Caesar, Genghis Khan and Charlemagne.

I don't know why but the name "d'Artagnan" popped into my mind. It's pronounced dar-tan-yon in my own words, it may differ from other people though.

It sounds like a noble and brave name to me c: .
