what is your favorite thing; role-playing or coding? (whichever it is, explain why)

i'm kind of indecisive, like a lot of people.
however, i don't really see bbcode as, you know, real hardcore coding. i'm more into java/html myself.
so i guess bbcode is - to me - just something fun to mess around with, like how one might doodle in the corner of a notebook. it doesn't really stand a chance when compared with roleplaying for me.
roleplaying... i haven't decided how i feel about it. i love that it's a collaboration between multiple people, focusing on different characters and giving those characters different voices, but then again i can't do it whenever i want. if your partner[s] hasn't/haven't responded, then you're kind of stuck. in essence i prefer roleplaying over writing: the latter is simply more practical.

looks like i'm one of the only person who strongly prefers coding. that's awkward.
if i wasn't extremely busy, i'd just make forms/layouts for users to use when they roleplay instead of roleplaying myself. this is simply because things revolving around design, organization and so on are what i'm good at- unlike writing. the process of creating a character and displaying parts of their personality through a form is what intrigues me, instead than actually playing out that character.
i know there are multiple people who don't really understand the need or how to code, and i totally respect that until what i love gets insulted for being a 'waste of time' or 'unnecessary'. i look at coding as another way to express a character and the roleplayer. plus, it's also something i really enjoy doing as a hobby.
and despite what people say, bbcode is much more vast than it's made out to be. there are a lot you can do with a small amount of commands, you know. on the other hand, glassea is right. html is much more intense and serves as a good challenge for someone as dumb as me. cx
and yeah. i'll cut this off short because i can really go into detail about coding, haha. i've been doing it for years, it's really just something i'm passionate about.

i prefer coding as well, i really love roleplaying, but as deer said, coding is my escape. it's something that comes naturally and i don't have to think about it. i love when someone has an eye-catching form, it makes me interested to look at their character. personally i think i'm much better at coding than roleplaying. it seems so complex, even though it's really not once you get the hang of it. anyways, my answer is coding because it's my heart and soul. for me, half the fun of joining a roleplay or making one is the look of it, this is where my OCD picks up. and sometimes when i make a roleplay and it fails to start, i think it's not that bad because i look at the coding and it's worth it. i'm with aurie and deer on this one.

for me, yes, a lot but i've been trying to quit that and make totally different characters. for males, i usually use kellin quinn, tyson ritter or nick wheeler, seth gable (for my precious lincoln on my 1x1), gerard way, and probably thomas dekker. wait, wait, i use dylan o'brien a lot too <3 and for females, it is normally holland roden for prissy girls, and jessica stroup. i don't play girls though but this is only when people on rps force me because we need spots closed. ugh.

pssh, pssh, not at all. with males, i've always found it awkward just looking up random guys on google, having seen interesting things come up. since i've found shahid kapoor's face, i've just used him. on my character thread, i have ranbir kapoor and ranveer singh, but i never use them. i like many spanish actors, but they just don't have good images. and i've used maite perroni since the beginning of time. i also like asin, katrina kaif, sonam kapoor ... euh ... i have more variation with females.

sometimes, i love using anna speckhart and aaron johnson a lot. it depends if i'm in the mood to search for faceclaims.

most of the guys that i use are more-or-less unknown anyway.
however i do quite adore some of them enough to use the character twice or thrice.
