with the two images of bert, ymir, and reiner reacting to him punching that titan, i always thought it was because of eren's power?? cause along with them reacting, other titans reacted to it well ;o i always thought that was so strange though, because when the ape titan was there a chapter or so back, bert and reiner also had a similar reaction almost (ymir said they reacted like excited children or something of the sorts), so im guessing eren and mr. ape titan share a similar power?? idk its just weird
but hey, thats a really REALLY cool theory, and i think i could def. get behind it!! like wowza

I guess it could be possible for Eren and the Ape/ Beast titan to share a similar and maybe even be related in some way? Though the latter would prove wrong my other theory of who the Ape titan might be.
As of the latest chapters I thought that if Kenny is indeed the Ape/ Beast titan then I’m expecting him to turn in the next few chapters and probably Eren will too (as I said before bc I have a mighty need for titan Eren). That, or it’ll be confirmed that Eren can in fact control humans as well.

I agree. This theory seems like it could happen, so, I'm praying it will be revealed in season 2! :DDD

I think we'll find out in this volume so I assume it will be in second season as well!

Also, I have this other theory of why the titans eat humans [spoilers]

So with all the new information we acquired from ch. 57 concerning shifters, I’m now certain that the reason titans eat people is because they are driven from the need to turn back into humans and not for pleasure. As seen in the 1st OVA the 6-meter titan was suffering when eating Ilse’s head and then he even preserved her body which means they don’t want to do it but after a while they can’t control it.

Five years later, after Eren had already joined the Survey Corps, the Smiling Titan appears again before Eren and Mikasa outside the Forest of Giant Trees during the military's pursuit of the Colossal Titan. After killing Hannes, who was protecting Eren and Mikasa before he was devoured, the Titan reaches out for Eren, who punches its hand. This activates powers he was previously unaware of, and seemingly gains control over the surrounding Titans. The ones that are under his control proceed to finally kill the Smiling Titan, by ripping it to shreds and devouring it.

from the wiki. it was chapter 50 :> when eren punched the titan that happened, and all the titans around reacted, along with ymir, bert, and reiner making those faces, so im guessing (even if they didnt rampage like the other titans) they were affected by eren too (this boy is beyond powerful, and i want to see him put his power to action cause im sure he has some other crazy powers)

x_x im struggling to find where she said it (i dont think im looking through the right chapters) but yeee, when they see him, they do kinda just stare all open-mouthed, like theyre genuinely kinda surprised to see him?? i suppose that would be close to an excited child as she said
