Question: Did you "know" (about) your form before you considered taking it or settled as it? That is, did you know such an animal existed, and/or some of its behaviours? (ignore daemonism interpretations, i.e. wolves are social, not loners)

Back in the beginging. I knew NOTHING. I couldn't even spell aye-aye. I didn't know AWDs were social, that most domestics were deferent, or anything. I thought analysises were God and no one could argue. I was such a noob ;__; I knew nothing about AWDs when I first took them, ew. They could never fit me now unless I got hit by the crazystick.

I think the only forms/animals on here or TDF I didn't know was crocotta, lindworm, and...one of the possums threw me off. Green ring-tailed or something? Dx OH and a great deal of the dasyurid family duh. I didn't even know there was a dasyurid family.

Everything else I'd at least heard of, though I'm not sure if I could give a list of behavior traits. xD Like I said on the last thread, a friend and I ran a pretty in-depth all-animal RP thing, and there were like 150+ birds and animals (I think near the end we had like...178 species/breeds/etc. total?) and we did all the research on them and listed their most important facts (what they eat, climate, predators, gregarious or solitary, scientific name, different colors they came in, how many babies/monogamous/polygamous, and then a ~*~fun fact~*~). So that was a fairly informative project.

My dursona is a thylacine and has been one fooooor... 4 years I wanna say? So yes, I knew about the thylacine.

Crocotta I didn't even know until I was looking at mythical creatures on Wikipedia at 3 in the morning.

...Yes and No. I saw a Coatimundi on Animal Planet once, and as usual, forgot about it 2 minutes after the show ended. xD

I saw a coati picture on google (I had no idea what the heck it was, so I searched it XD). Their noses are ugly.

That's what made me look at the binturong analysis, I knew them. I'd seen them in Singapore Night Zoo, in a show back in 2000, and I'd thought they were really weird and completely forgotten about them. A couple of years later I found Taronga's binties tucked in a little exhibit out of the way (they didn't have a proper place for them at that point :P), and I thought they were weird and then forgot about them. Then I read the name on TDP and went "Ooh, I remember those, they're really weird animals! I wonder what sort of person would be settled as one of those ohhhhhhh, me".

I knew very little about them and hadn't done any research, which was why when I got to TDF half a year later I was scared into a crisis by Ghost D:<. But I started looking into them as soon as that happened, so yeah.

Their noses are ugly.
