What is an Amur Leopard?
Amur Leopards (or Far Eastern Leopards) are a critically endangered species of Leopard, meaning there's only 20-40 left in the wild, due to poaching, and trapping. They are only found Far East Russia, and North East China. Males weigh an average of 32-48 lb, sometimes getting up to 75 lb and, females weigh about 25-43 lb. In the wild, they live for about 10-15 years, and in captivity, they can live up to 20. Amur Leopards have long fur, that can grow up to 7.5 cm long to keep them warm in their cold climate. Their fur is paler than other leopard species, so they can blend in. The Amur Leopard is the most endangered big cat!
