I agree with kind of supporting this, although it COULD be easily lied about (how do we know?) and it would also raise problems with how far back does it go/etc. Would it be only parents? What about cousins, grandparents, great-grandparents? People might get offended if it did not include close friends as well.

I have a feeling that a lot of people would lie about their relatives, because people are like that. Like, my father actually served in the Romanian military when he was younger, but somebody can easily just say "my dad/brother/uncle/boyfriend/best friend/friend serves in the military!" and apply anyways.

The people who do have close friend in the military will know the divisions their *insert it here* was from. For example, my mother was on the Vandegrift and she was one of six women on the ship.
My dad's ship had a dog named Jenna. She's fifteen now.
I can see the problems.
I'd just really love to see a military dragon, maybe in camoflage or something.

Honestly, how did it cause that many problems? It just really seemed unfair that the only memorial dragon made was non-owners, blocking out lots of people who want to honor the people they're related to.

more problems with that is that no matter what there would be liars
and i don't think anyone wants to search up every.single.fact&detail on some part of a war or something because I certainly dont want to take hours and hours to judge, making sure I don't pick a winner who lied/cheated.
