Now unto some stupid questions a newbie has to ask, what number doctor is the doctor in season two?

It depends what era.
In the classic episodes, season two was William Hartnell, the first doctor.
Otherwise, as Sound~of~Drums said, it was David Tennant who was the tenth Doctor.

David's name is appropriate for his role as number Tennant.

And that joke will last throughout time and space.
