Hey everyone, yesterday I got the idea to try and make a doll of one of my characters. I bought some supplies and have been working on it quite a bit today and yesterday. I'm using a wooden manikin as a base and sewing together felt and cloth for the clothing. I've almost finished the outfit so far and it actually doesn't look too bad, what I'm worried about is making and painting the face. The face of the manikin is too flat so I tried to create new one out of clay and paint it, but the clay is very soft and difficult to mold well, so I have a feeling it'll just come out looking rather lumpy. My last resort would be making a paper face and gluing that on, it would look nicer but would stand out a bit oddly and wouldn't last long. I'll definitely post pictures once I'm done though. If anyone else has ever tried to make dolls of their characters, I'd love to hear advice and see some pictures. ^^
