Hi guys,
I'd like to see us start up a new thread, a Character History Checker or something like that. It would have 2 goals:

1) We would try to map out the sale paths of all of our characters and verify those paths are indeed correct / that the sales actually occurred (via links, or seller confirmations), to confirm that our characters are legitimate and were never stolen along the way, since art theft seems to be so rife these days (especially with characters coming over from DA). We could help each other track down these paths.

2) When people sell characters not made by them, they could link to their verified sale path on the history checker thread to reassure the new buyer that the character is legitimate, or at least give them some background informatin about the character if the path isn't verified.

Now this would be a huge undertaking for everyone with a lot of characters, but if you have a stolen character, wouldn't you rather find it out before you lavish it with lots of expensive art? Do you guys like this idea / think it is worthwhile?

How would we verify this? I don't tend to keep the PMs I got when getting characters, I just save who I got them from in the name of the image on my laptop....That's my only concern.

Each user could get like i couple of posts stating who they sold the character to and who they got the character from, maybe taking screen shot as proof. Its not like every user has to do this, no one is forcing your hand in it or anything. But for those who trade often from more the one computer, it would be nice to have around.

I'm trying out for a Kiamara (I finally found one that I know is perfect~) and I'm wondering if anyone here knows an artist who can and will draw kiamaras (preferably for cheap, but not necessary).

@Solloby - I love that idea. :3 Despite my huge amount of characters, not many were bought or adopted from sources with the possibility of being a stolen design, so it wouldn't even be that difficult for me. xD

I've got no problem with screenshotting them, but I've got a ton of PMs that are gone from characters I have now, so would this start with any new characters we get, or would we have to re-get confirmation of buying current characters?

In response to this question, verification can be:
- Contacting sellers and asking them to post confirmation in the thread
- Linking to the sale threads on CS / DA / wherever
- Screenshots / PM quotes can be accepted but of course there will always be a possibility it was made up

Also, we should all use Google Image Search to check that the original sellers are in fact legitimate and it's not stolen from the source. So the Character History Checker thread would have a step-by-step guide to help tracking down characters via Google Image Search, DA searches and character name CS forum searches.

If anyone would like to help write up the guide and lay out the thread, let me know! I don't want to dive into a new thread without having some idea of the first page contents.
