Find a character of yours with a species you don't know much about; research the species. Find out anything interesting?

One of my unnamed characters is a male river otter.
I found out these things:

1. "They become much more nocturnal in the spring, summer, and fall seasons, and more diurnal during winter"
   Diurnal, a word I did not know means that are active during the day and sleep at night.
2. While it is not their most common of diets, I have also learned they eat fruit, birds and small mammals
3. They are polygynous.
4. A river otter's den can also be called a 'holt'
5. River Otter mortality is mostly caused by human-related factors.

So, I counted over my characters.
Nearly half don't even have a spot on my character site.
I haven't been updating the site in ages.
And I do in fact have over 200 characters.

First is to count all of you characters (or estimate) to see how many you have.
Then state what goal you want to reach, and how much you want to cut back or sell.
Then after that, give some of your ideas on how we can help you cut back. Gives us a few tips that will help us help you.

I think that will be some good starter questions to know how much they have, goals, and some of their ideas on how we can all help them c:

I own 50+ characters, 7 of them humanoid and the rest animal of some sort... I want to get to at least 20-22 only... Not sure how others can help me... Kinda hard to give away my characters...

Maybe think about which characters you've never used and don't find as much meaning in to help you cut back. You could start an adoption thread and have people fill out forms to make sure they go to good owners. You can shoot me a PM if you want more help ;3

Working on counting up all my babes, but I don't want to sell any I have atm, I've got a separate site for ones that need homes that I'm giving away for free...will edit when I count them all up.
What I really need to do is get art of my charries.....

@Sheori: I understand how you feel about giving away your charas. I have about 40+ to 50? characters, and I find it hard to sell them off. My suggestion to you is to go through all your characters once again, and decide which you really cannot survive without, which you can survive without but you love, and which that you don't really love that much. Then, from the ones which you don't really love, further divide them into those that you don't really love but you are sentimental about (perhaps the chara has been with you for a long time? Or reminds you of someone dear?), which you only like, but not love, and which you just like the design, but feel no connection.

From there, you should be able to sell of those that you feel no connection to.

I counted a little while ago and gave up at 208 characters -this includes puppies of characters, etc-.
I estimate I have 215-230

I believe a good realistic first goal would be cutting down on 10 characters before the end of Febuary - obviously I do more if I want.
From there, I'd up it to something like getting rid of 15 characters before end of March.
Etc.

What will help?
