Sword Art Online is awesome, just throwing that out there.
It really depends on what kind of manga you're looking for, as far as manga goes. My favorite will forever be Ghost Hunt, though I love Mahouka Koukou no Rettousei as well.

Other: (I never know what to post here…) I went to a Japanese film festival at my local cinema and watched all this really beautiful anime, it was wonderful except it was all in Japanese so it had subtitles, which kinda ruins it but still, it was worth it.
