tokyo magnitude is about a girl named Mirai, who took her little brother, Yuuki, to a robot convention sort thing, she didn't really want to take him tho, her mom told her she had to take him out 'cause she had to go to work, and her dad was out. so Mirai took him to the convention, saying almost every other sentences, she "wouldn't care if the world ended." she sent her brother to go to the bathroom by himself and to go buy a drink. after about 15 minutes passed, a huge earth quake came through and destroyed the entire place. sadly yuuki wasn't back before the earth quake hit. Mirai meets a woman named Mari who was in the earth quake as well, saves her from being crushed from falling roof parts, Mirai thanks her, but immediately starts looking for yuuki again, Mari says she'll help her find her brother.

after they got out of the building, they decide to stick together, since Mirai and yuuki's parents weren't with them, and they were across town or so. they spend the rest of the episodes, sticking together, trying 2 get back home to their families, Mari has a daughter and her mother are at her home, that gets engulfed in flames, and random earth quakes continue to hit all over tokyo.

MAJOR spoiler. it depressed me above all, yuuki collapsed while they were going back to a place they'd taken shelter, and rush him to a set up hospital, and take him into surgery, where Yuuki dies at. mirai thought it was a horrible nightmare, 'cuz she woke up and his backpack was laying beside her on a bed. she figured he was OK, 'cuz she also saw his spirit everywhere she went. she finds out in the last few episodes, that yuuki died in the hospital that day.. i cried rivers.

Hello, guys! Haha, it's been forever since I've posted on this thread.
I'm in the process of looking for a unique anime that I haven't watched yet; preferably, something that's not shoujo because those tend to have very similar plotlines. It's been quite difficult for me to find something good to watch, so it'd be awesome if you guys could suggest some interesting titles! ^^

Erm, just to give you a faint guideline, I'm currently following Chihayafuru 2, Karneval and Shingeki no Kyojin, eagerly awaiting KnB: Tip Off and Magi 2, and as of one hour ago, rewatching Hanasaku Iroha for the umpteenth time. c; Hope that helps!

I recently found myself caught up in a series called Kamisama Hajimemashita { I can never remember the second part of the name... ouo; }, and that might be an interesting one to look at. c: It's not too well-known, but it's actually pretty interesting.
Though, the one thing about it is that the anime doesn't cover the whole story and all. There's only thirteen episodes in the complete anime, while the manga series is at around 95 chapters, and it's still going. The series is still great and interesting though, as long as you continue it through the manga.
But, I guess it is still shoujo... even so, it still has a unique plot and all.

Ahh, thank you! <3 I did a little bit of background research on it and seems very interesting~ There are a lot of good reviews on it too, so I'm sure it'll be a worthwhile watch.

Might I suggest Persona4? I started it last week and it's really good, it's kind of hard to explain but I'm on the 22nd episode out of I think 25? It's great and I highly recommend it. c:
